    3. Gary, I am finally getting a bit of my genealogy mails read and responding. Our daughter married in Oct., the holidays hit, my Mother passed away in KS. in Jan, and now other daughter is getting married in 3 wks in TX. So we have had ups & downs, sad & happy the last yr. and gone a lot. Am so behind!! Can you give me some information on this Fentress Co. cemetery book? When you say it contains "each person interred in the hundreds of cemeteries in Fentress County." , that's a lot of people. I haven't been able to get to Fentress Co. yet to check out my Richardsons, but know they were there for awhile before going on to IL. Could you please tell me how much this book is and can I still get it from your shop? Thanks, Erma N. 2. Phyllis Miller
    3. Hello List, I am looking for some information about Mattie (Edwards) Lewis. I don't know much to start with. Mattie was born ~1893, her father's name was Loucious Winfield Edwards, a musician, mother unknown, step-mother was Mary Etta (Miller) Edwards. She married a man named Fate Lewis, probably in White County, somewhere near Wilder. I can find her in the 1900 census in White county, district 9, but can't find her after that. I can't find Fate Lewis either. Mary Etta Miller Edwards is buried in Hanging Limb, TN. Lou Edwards is buried in Clifty, TN. This is not much to go on but if anyone recognizes any of these names, I would appreciate hearing from you. Phyllis K. Miller elmozap@obclc.com

    1. Jaynes & Beaty
    2. Hi List, I recently got a copy of death certificate for John Janes, it list his parents as John Janes & ? Beaty. So looked in the 1850 census and there is a John Janes listed with wife Serena, one of the sons is named John but in census would be older than my John. We all know the census didn't always have the right age of a person, so think this might be the right family. Does anyone know if any of the Beaty family had a daughter named Serena? Also know that my John is listed with the King family, but think this cert. adds some questions to that. Would love to have some input. Have a great day! Pat

    2. Hello Patty, I have some info on the Beatys in the area, but don't have quite enough info to find your family in my files. If you would send me a few more details or dates maybe I can locate them. I'm a member of the Beaty Project 2000 [BP2000] and would certainly recommend you join that group if you are interested in Beaty research. It is a group of researchers of all spellings of the Beaty name and they have been gathering all the info on that surname for several years. It is free and easy to join. Here is the website: _http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~bp2000/main.htm_ (http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~bp2000/main.htm) My Beaty family line is from Alexander & Catharine Beaty who lived just across the state line in Clinton Co., KY. They are directly related to many of the Beatys in Fentress Co. They are all part of BP2000 lineage 2, but have been broken up into several branches to help us research them. I don't see your Mary Elizabeth right away, but there are a number of girls named Mary E. in several of the branches. 3. I was in Alpine in January for 3 weeks at my brother's, enjoyed ever minute of it with him, got some pictures of families, and found alot of info at the Christ Church Presbyterian in Alpine where my daddy and grandparents were members. Was very hard to leave. I will be back again the first of April. I will have to get to the Fentress Library. Will be easier this time for I will have my own vehicle. I will have to check out Bruce's site. That's really nice he put it on. Thank you for your help. 2. His son, also a minister, wrote a book regarding his father's journal. The Autobiography of A.B. Wright. It is an excellent source. Also, there is a book put out by the Fentress County Historical Society, The History of Fentress County. It is also good. The Fentress County Historical Library at Jamestown is very small but a good source of local information.
