Pat & Sarah, According to a note from a Lloyd Reagan Peter Reagan and his four sons lived in the naked Creek area of Wilkes Co. untill 1818. On July 27 1818, Peter Reagan purhased 102 acres on south side of Obeds Rver from John McIver of Fairfax, VA for $50.00. The land purchased in the section of Ovrto Co is today known as the Beaty town Community of Fentress. Really need to go see her she will be 98 yrs. old on Oct 7 of this year, she and my mother were born in the same year. Remember going down there many times as a young girl and even into adulthood. I have a lot of happy childhood memories from down there. Wilma always said our family came to TN about 1818 and had never even thought about the 1812 notation in Hogue's book, they would have had to been there then. Will dig out the book and send what it says to you. Sorry I keep saying dig out and look for it, but 3 yrs ago my husband and I bought a 27 ft. travel trailer and that is what we live in on a campground, we love it. But most of information is in a storage unit and some is with me. Am never sure what is with me or in the unit. Think the last date I have is 1806 on one of the deeds, it has Peter and Nancy's name on it. I could not find Peter Jr. in census for 1800 or 1810. And haven't found him on any papers in TN before 1820 census. I didn't see the book by John you are talking about, wish I had. Agree with you we each have a lot of information and putting it together might solve our mystery. Do you know if they have papers on the War of 1812 at archives here in NC, found a Capt. James Findley and Charles Rygen from Wilkes, think this might be Peter Jrs. brother. Pat ==== TNFENTRE Mailing List ==== Does Anyone Ever Read the Taglines ??? I am very interested in your JOHN HUFF, do you have any parents of siblings for JOHN? Your help would be appreciated. I have a Joseph Curran Huff, Sr. born 1755, and wife Elizabeth "Betty", born 1750, married 1770, and with nine children, a JOHN being one of them. Hi, Your family is listed with the Beatty Project 2000. I asked on our list and recieved the information, that it is. The website is how you join our BP2000 mailing list. It is a closed list for members only so that may be why you found nothing when you looked. We have a group of researchers who work hard at researching not just thier lineages but any Beatty information that can be found both on and off the internet. We ask that a member not share other lineages but their own with others that is so the person who did the research gets the credit instead of just being loosely picked up by others. WE ask you to refer the person to the list, if the information is not your own line, that is what I am doing here... I suggest if you want contact with others researching your Solomon and Beaty that you go read about joining and decide to join... then ask for help with your line Nelda Nelda's websites - http://freepages.folklore.rootsweb.com/~bonsteinandgilpin/ yDNA tests for Hurst, Beatty, Gilpin; all male relatives
Hi Sarah, Don't get discouraged! We have the answers just have to put them together. I have brought this up to you before on the Finley's, but will run it by you again and maybe you can talk to Carmen about it. Wilma says that our James Finley was part cherokee and his mother was supposed to be full blooded. My ggrandfather Joel applied but was denied. Wilkes Co. was mostly Indian at the time our families were there, there were Finley's there also. Think it was in 1800 that a James Finley married an Elizabeth Love in Orange Co. NC feel that this James could have been the son of George Finley from that county. Found a will abstract for Hiram Love and in it he named his brother-in-law James Finley. James & Elizabeth named their 1st son George and their 2nd was named Hiram. Do not know what happened to George but think Hiram was killed in the Civil War. My guesses are different than yours, but one of us could be right. We just have to dig a little more. Agree with you that the James Finley mentioned in the Sevier Cert. is ours. But like you really do not have any information on him. Have went through the rolls but have not found any Finley marrying into the Cherokee tribe. I have the 1813 petition and there are other family members that signed from my grandmothers side of the family. Have a good day! Pat
Phyllis I have George W. Crabtree b. 1872 m. Frankie Reagan, is the same one you are talking about? He was a brother to Henry Crabtree, and Henry married Susannah Doss, at one time they had Henry to be 112 years old, but I think he was up in his 90's when he died. Is this the same family. Wilma

Milly and Brenda, I talked with my mother (88 years sharp!) and she told me that Scrooger and Cora Dishman Burnett went to Sunnybrook, KY from (she thinks) Rottens Fork, in Pall Mall. From there they went to Muncie, and then returned to the Sunnybrook KY home place and that Scrooger died there at home. He died August 9, 1985, and Cora died June 28, 1998 at age 93 years, 11 months, and 18 days. I don't have the exact birthdates but am going through Sunnybrook on Saturday and plan to stop at the cemetery where they are buried and will get the dates. They had only one son, who was Paul Burnett. Paul is still living in Sunnybrook and was born about 1936-1940. Will try to talk with him also. Paul is a retired minister and is still active in ministry. I will try to find out who Nancy J. Crabtree married and get what I can. Assume ???? Burnett. Now a question: Are we assuming that Nancy J. Crabtree's mother, Dorcus Crabtree did not get married, since her maiden name was Crabtree (father - James Crabtree and Nancy Huff)? Question 2: Did Nancy J. Crabtree have siblings? Dorcus Crabtree d/o James Crabtree and Nancy Huff I've found a Nancy Huff (b. TN) http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=wallaces&id=I3172 There's another Nancy Huff (b.1841) d/o Alexander Huff (d. 2 May 1862) and Martha Alexander and family are on the 1850 8th district Fentress County census as Hough. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=wallaces&id=I3325 I have no information on who either of these Nancy Huff married or when they died, but since both had connections to Fentress County, either might be the Nancy Huff who married James Crabtree. I've tried to guesstimate dates on this and it may be a real stretch for either Nancy Huff to be the mother of Dorcus Crabtree (mother of Nancy Crabtree Burnett), but it's a thought! Carletta, Have you tracked back in the Solomon line? It seems as if Sallie Owen has some connection to the Solomons. The Solomon family was in Franklin Co, NC in the late 1700s. I am related to the Owen group from NC and think she may be connected to Bailey and William Owen from there in the same period of time. Sarah
