That should be 1856-57! for marriage of William Anthony and Ann Woodson. janet in san Antonio
Seeking a marriage between William Anthony and Ann Elizabeth Woodson about 1956-57 in Fayette Co. Thanks janet in San Antonio
Hi, I am new to your list and I am hoping someone can help me with this. I am searching for information on my Great Great Grandfather James Edwards b. 1820 in Fayette Co. Tn. and his wife Eliza (or Elizabeth) Simmons b. Sept.26, 1826. They had at least 1 daughter, Tennessee Elizabeth Edwards b.March 23,1852, who married John Wm. Blasingame. All 4 of these are said to be buried in Marietta, Love Co. Ok. Does anyone have access to the 1830 Fayette Co. census ? If so would someone please look and see if James Edwards or Elizabeth or Eliza Simmons is on it. If anyone has any information, no matter how small, Please write me either directly or through the list. Thank You Very Much William Haltom Researching the following surnames: HALTOM, HENSON, BECKERDITE, BLASINGAME, CROWE, KING, HARRIS, GIELIAM, EDWARDS, VERES and SPITZNAGEL.
I feel like I am "collecting" information on all the Walkers in Fayette Co. There are at least two, maybe three, separate families that lived there during the 1800s. Anything you can contibute will be great! My direct line is from James Walker and Elizabeth Holt (I think I gave you her mother's name last night) daughter, Lidia S. who married an unknown Martin in about 1833 or so and had three children. The Unknown Martin died right before the 1850 census!! so I have no first name. a Seth Martin matches from the 1840 census. Anyway, here are the people I can identify as chldren of James and Elizabeth: Lidia b. 1815 m. Martin Georgianna b. 1820 m. Levi Ketchum Sarch C. b. 1809 m. William Mitchell Felix b. 1818 m. ? lived in New Orleans Simon H. b. 1801 --could be ab uncle. I have letters written during the Civil War from Lidia to her daughter Mary Ella who married William Clayton and lived in Searcy, Ar. Anyway, anything you know or could contribute could help and I will do likewise for your line. Gail
Gail, I will just write a short note; am off to work. will ck our walkers; I`m sure ther is a James of the right age(not positive) Son of John Walker and Ann Barnett of N.C or S. C. or Wautauga. then Davidson Co. their desc`s went into many areas of Tenn. and Somerville. Keep in touch I`ll look at the records but maybe you have already checked this line. Good luck Sue, in Al.
I am looking for Walkers in Sommerville, Fayette Co. from early 1800s to about 1880. They have been my "brickwall" for 20 years now. My Walkers married Martin, Ketchum, Williams, Mitchell and Clayton. My line starts with James Walker/Elizabeth Reed from NC? who settled in Fayette Co. by early 1820s. Gail Compton St. Louis
Sort of reposting: Would like to correspond with any desc`s of the Wall, Walker, Bell, Love families of Somerville and Laconia areas 1800`s. many went to Texas, Ark and Miss. Sue in Al.

I can`t seem to pull up the Digital library program of Va. with the web. address given. Sue
Dear List Members, Here it is the end June and time for the Second Quarterly Report for 2001. Can you believe how fast the time has passed? This one almost passed me by. The TNFAYETT Mailing List has 62 members, 51 on the Regular list and there are 11 members on the Digest List. As most of you know by now, the GenConnect Boards have changed. Rootsweb.com and Ancestry.com are continuing their merger and now have merged the GenConnect Boards. I am not sure of my feeling regarding this yet, but will watch it and let you know. I am not one to jump to conclusions quickly. I also take care of many GenConnect Boards and did loose all of them in which I did not take care of the Query board due all the boards, bios, wills, pensions, etc. being combined within the Query board. If you used one of these boards, now you know why I suddenly disappeared. I know many of you have concerns regarding copyright laws and the information you post to the boards and the mailing lists. The following was posted by Rootsweb Management. "When you post messages to mailing lists, message boards, and other facilities at RootsWeb, those posts remain your property under copyright law." The same is true for those using the message boards at Ancestry.com. In short, if you posted it, you own it." If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fullers Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any rootsweb list all you need to do is visit Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will received an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to ask. If you would like to visit the Archived messages of this list, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would like to search. Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. If you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly Spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. 2. If you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line it might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 4. The wonderful relationship that develops between list members is also one of a Mailing Lists Problems. I encourage you to respond to the entire list with genealogical responses, you never know who your response will help. In the same thought I would like to ask you to not respond to the entire list with personal responses. Such as, the first message from a member says "Happy Birthday Mary" and then Mary says "Thank you and then about 60 of our members also send "Happy Birthday Mary". This is what I mean by personal messages. Just keep in mind anything is ok to be posted as long as it has to do with the subject of the list. If you have a doubt ask me. KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net 5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. Kathleen Burnett List Mom KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net

Dear List Members, This site was shared with me today and I am thrilled with it. If you have or might have ancestors who were from Virginia, you need to check this one out. Plan on spending some time. There is a lot of information. http://www.lva.lib.va.us/dlp/index.htm "The Library of Virginia's Digital Library Program (DLP) is an internationally recognized effort to preserve, digitize, and provide access to significant archival and library collections. The DLP transfers rare and unique Virginia materials into an integrated, user-friendly electronic research environment. Since its inception in 1995, the Program has digitized more than 2.2 million original documents, photographs, and maps, and produced more than 80 fully-searchable databases, indexes, and electronic finding aids."
I am sorry that I am just now getting around to reading this e-mail - long after Memorial Day. Although some of my family members have served their country (USA), I never lost anyone. I am grateful for that, but saddened to hear of the tremendous loss of those who did lose loved ones. Even though the genealogy mail lists are not a forum for political "statements," I do appreciate being reminded of the sacrifices that have been made for so many of us. It's not too much of a "sacrifice" to read about it through my e-mail. Thank you JJ. Dear List Members, if messages are being posted to the list by a member that does not deal with the subject of the list, PLEASE let it pass. I am taking care of it behind the scene. You do not need to correct the member who posted the incorrect message nor do you need to send to the entire list your unhappiness. I will take care of it for you, quietly and personally with the member who posted the message. Also, I am getting a lot of personal messages asking me to help you unsubscribe as you leave on vacations, etc. I will always be glad to help you unsubscribe if you have a problem or even if you have forgotten how, but just as a reminder if you go to Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ and type in your e-mail address and ask for a list of all Rootsweb lists you belong to, you will, within a few moments receive it via e-mail. You can unsubscribe from any or all of the rootsweb lists you are on from it. I thank you for your continued support. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

To the List: If you have Tennessee roots you will be interested in a new publication titled "The Reconstructed 1810 Census of Tennessee." To be published in June, this 600-page volume will include more than 30,000 records of citizens of Tennessee in 1810. Since nearly all of the original census was destroyed many years ago, this reconstructed census will be an invaluable research tool. The work is based on names extracted from tax lists, court minutes, church records, wills, deeds and other sources dated 1809-1811 in Tennessee. The author made this extensive effort to track every adult male in Tennessee. In addition many entries for women, children, free blacks and slaves were also located. The book was complied by Charles A. Sherrill, a well-known Tennessee genealogist, librarian and lecturer. His earlier works include "Tennesseans in Court" and "Tennessee Convicts." For a sample page of text and ordering information, contact the author at this e-mail address: books4histry@cs.com
