PARRISH was the son of Allen PARRISH and Frances HUNT. The family came to Dickson Co. after 1820. It is my understanding that the father (Allen) had died back in Virginia (Pittsylvania Co.) and the Widow and her children came to Dickson Co. where her brother, Spencer T. HUNT, lived. Frances bought land near the mouth of Salmon Branch where it flows into Yellow Creek. This family is covered in some detail in William NESBITT'S book "The Primal Famiies of the Yellow Creek Valley". There are several of us working the PARRISH line out of Dickson Co. Your PARRISH family group came out of Pittsylvania Co. VA and the other family came out of Person Co. NC. However, we do think there is a relationship. It's just a theory at this time. We would love to have you join our little reearch group if you are interested. If you've already been in contact with "Laura" who has left several posts on this Web Site, you may know everything I know. The site of the Frances PARRISH property is very near my home in Houston Co. Houston Co. was formed from Dickson Co. (and others) in 1871. *************************************************************************** This is an automatically-generated notice.
