In the last two days the discovery of a deed found in Deed Book A, pg. 329 at the archives in Charlotte even suggests that Dr. Willam DICKSON, Jr, of Davidson Co. and namesake of Dickson Co. might not be the son of Col. William DICKSON of Duplin Co. NC Does anyone have documentation of the relationship? Did Col. William DICKSON mention his son in "The Dickson Letters"? I could be gettng two different William DICKSON, Jr's confused. I believe most DICKSON descendents in the Yellow Creek area are not descendents of old Joseph DICKSON but more likely are descendents of his brother James DICKSON, Sr. who remained in Duplin Co. NC. I can prove Alexander DICKSON and Elizabeth DICKSON (who was mentioned in old Joseph's Will) are children of James DICKSON, Sr. The other connections are theory. Fact is that, other than Molton DICKSON, the sons of old Joseph DICKSON all moved away fairly early. Most to AL or MS. I would like to exchange information on the DICKSON family with anyone interested. Russ James of Houston Co. *************************************************************************** This is an automatically-generated notice.
