Personally, I use the Personal Ancestral File (PAF 4.0) from the LDS for two reasons, first because it is sooooo user friendly and second we have a computer users group that meets once a month at the LDS center here in town and I have lots of people to ask questions of. It seems among the users group Master Genealogist and Family Tree Maker and PAF are the top three among our users. I started with Ultimate Family Tree and as a beginner it was too hard for me and I just never went back to it.
