The "Family Legend" came from the family - he is my great grandfather. Do you have information on his descendants through Martha? that is interesting. Evelyn Duke Brandengurger in her book "The Duke Family" relates the same story. She also has a complete history of Robert Allen. Just double check all facts. doug Varick wrote: > The "Family Legend" came from the family - he is my > great grandfather. Hi, Doug, Not surprising, though, since she is my aunt. She had the opportunity to talk with her grandfather, Robert Allen Duke, and in her book relates the stories he told her. He had died some time before I was born but my father and grandfather told me these stories. It is my hope that some other descendant of Robert Allen Duke is interested enough in trying to help me either prove or disprove this Family Legend.
