Hi everyone. My name is Michael Berryman Smith, I'm 37 and live in Forth Worth Texas. I have a wife and 16 year old daughter and 5 month old son. My connection to Dickson County started in 1815, when John Galloway moved there from either Sumner or Wilson Co. He married Sarah Barnett in Wilson Co in 1810. he was born in 1786 VA, and she in 1791 NC. They had many children in Dickson Co. The last child there was in 1860 and that was Indiana Galloway who had married Daniel E. Parnell. I have a really good picture of most all of the descendents. Of course, I'm always looking for more information where it pertains to John Galloway and hopefully one day I will figure out who his parents were in VA. I descend through his son Jackson Galloway who married a lady named Anna. They moved to Chickasaw MS in the early 1850's were he died before 1855. Genealogy and history in general are my passion. So much so that I recently helped a person who descends from the other Galloway family that moved into Dickson Co from PA all the way back to arrival from Ireland. I like to help people when an where I can. I understand there is another Mike Smith in the group, so for ease, I generaly go by "michaelb". I look forward to being apart of yalls group.
