My father and I will be spending a day or two in the Dickson County area next week. Does anyone have any suggestions on special sites that we should take the time to visit while in the area. My Dad is 82 years old and he is very anxious to see this part of Tennessee which he heard a lot about when he was a youngster. He wants to wade in Yellow Creek and get his feet stained! While there, we will attempt to informally contact any Balthrop/McClurkan descendants still living in the area if they've so a mind to visit with us. I have a map showing Balthrop Branch Road and the Balthrop Cemetery. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm going to try to stay out of Nashville on this trip since it was too late for us to get tickets to the Grand Ole Opry.
