I've hit a brick wall and hoping someone may have a clue they don;t know about. John Galloway m. Sarh (Sally) Barnett some of their children were; 1) Parilee Galloway (b.1825) m. William Hall in 1841. By this marriage she had James, Arrinetta, & Richard. on the 1850 census however she must have been a widow. This is the last time I find not only her, but John and Sarah as well. John was 64 and Sarah 59. On the 1860 census, I can find no "Hall" children in TN whose ages would match those of hers (assuming she remarried, the 1860 census list with an astrick those who live in a household by a differnet name) So my guess is she moved. I also think that perhaps John and Sarah either one had died yet and moved with her. I've check known locations of other siblings, but can find no leads. Nor can I find anything that would indicate that John and Sarah died in Dickson Co. 2)James Galloway b.1812 and married Louisa Andrews in 1834. after 1840 they removed to Il. I have some deeds were-by James recieved as the assignee of a Walter Barnett some land in Dickson Co. On the deeds it specifically states that this land bordered among others 50 acres of Walter Barnett. I can not find any other mention of a Walter Barnett in Dickson Co, other than this (ie..no census etc) one of these bondsmen was Terrell Andrews, but can find no info on him 3)Jackson Galloway (b.1823) married Anna ? (b.1830 KY) I can not find any marraige records of them. and Dickson co, has better than descent records of early marraiges. Now of course he could have left and married her in KY before moving back to Hickman Co in 1850, because he apparently was not at home on the 8140 census. Now the interesting thing here is, thier son James Richard Galloway, (who is my gggrandfather) had a son William Jasper (my greatgrand) he died in 1919 and as mothers surname - James Richard put "Hamilton" on the death certificate, it should have been Henderson (his wifes surname) but I think he either forgot his wifes maiden name or put his mother maiden name ? Also interesting is on the 1850 census in IL. Jackson's older brother James (above) had a border living with him whose last name was "Hamilton", he was from Indiana however. Other surnames that married in are; Parnell, Ryan thanks michaelb > ==== TNDICKSO Mailing List ==== > http://www.rootsweb.com/~tndickso/index.htm > I am my own double first cousin!
