    3. Sue, your email really sparks my curiosity, becasue of the Pontotoc Co MS connection. Please allow me to explain. My connection to Dickson Co starts in 1815 with John Galloway who married Sarah Barnett in 1810. 1 of their many children is my ggggrandfather Jackson Galloway. He was born in 1823 there in Dickson Co. He can be found living at home in Dickson in 1830, then in 1840 he is gone (where I do not know). Anyway he re-apears in Hickman Co in 1850 and is married to a lady named Anna ? (she was born 1830 in KY) and they have 2 children; daughter, Indiana, born in 1846 or 47 in TN. and James Richard b. 1849 in TN. After the 1850 census Jackson and family migrated to Chickasaw Co, MS. I have not been able to figure out why, and my Galloways have no relation that I can find to the Galloways who lived in that region of MS. (Chickasaw/Pontotoc). Anyway - Jackson died before 1855 and I know this because in 1856, Anna married a John Matthew Brown and had a daughter, then another daughter in 1858, and she herself died before the 1860 census. (Best I can figure by reading up on diseases og the mid 1850 in MS is Black Measles was bad down there) I find Indiana & James both with Matthew Brown in Chickasaw in 1860 and their 1/2 sisters, then by 1870 both had married and themselves were living in Pontotoc. Indaina married into the Hitchcock family of the area and James R. married a Mary Henderson (I descend thru James and Mary) None of Jackson siblings made it to MS. So I have figured they just went there for what-ever reason. But logic tells me that generally back then people moved in groups. Anyway, maybe there is no connection, but it just seems strange that there is another connection to Pontotoc MS and Dickson Co.
