A couple of days ago, I wondered if I was the only one "wasting time" on the computer. Well, I just have to tell you---I was will-bound and determined to find something about my ggg-grandfather! Over 20 years ago, I was told his name was Isaac Trump and he drowned in the Potomac River on his way home from the Civil War. Then, Daddy gave me a picture of this "cute" young man (Jan has it on the Stewart Co. site) in a Union uniform. His widow remarried and moved to Stewart County. His daughter Clara Alice married Theodore Baxter Hayes (son of James Washington Hayes and Mary Bartee. Bartee is my "Dickson Connection") I always said my g-grandmother and g-aunts gave a lot of family information that I can use as "clues". The information is close--but not accurate enough to document! (If you "don't sweat the small stuff", you don't do genealogy!) When I found everything I could in TN, I started having problems documenting anything. This past week, I found another "clue" that didn't match what my g-grandmother said---but it was close! Isaac's name was really Isaiah! I found a pension application for Hester Trump---a widow's pension application! That's when I contacted that man I mentioned a few days ago. Today, he pulled the file on this application and took a good look at it. He said that "everything" was just like I'd thought it was! "Excited" is an understatement---I can hardly wait to see those records! Guess I wasn't exactly "wasting time" on the computer! Sandy Ellis
