    1. [TNDICKSO] Lenora-----Hayes family--Bartee & Hambrick families

    3. Does anyone know anything about the Hays/Hayes people that were in Dickson County in the 1850s? James W. Hayes married Mary Bartee and Solomon Hayes married Angeline Hambrick---both marriages took place in Dickson County. Maybe someone has something "new" on the Bartee family or knows something about the Hambricks? Lenora---here's a curiosity for you. James W. and Mary Bartee Hayes were the parents of my gg-grandfather Theodore Baxter. Theodore married Clara Trump. Clara was the daughter of Isaiah Trump and Hester Reitzel. Isaiah and Hester were married in Dauphin Co., PA where they both lived. Isaiah drowned during the Civil War, Hester remarried and the family moved to Stewart Co., TN---just a few doors from James W. and Mary Hayes. Last night I was playing around (I was bored!) and did a search for Solomon Hays. I found several Hayses in Dauphin Co., PA! We know the census records say James W. and Solomon were born in KY. We know my "greats" said they were from W VA. We know the census says Catherine (their mother) was born in NJ. What we don't know is who their father was or where he was from! (Could these families have known each other in PA?) The 1850 census isn't too clear--James W was 37 and it looks like Solomon was 26 on that census. (Are we missing a half-dozen or so kids?( And Catherine is shown as 62---sure she could have had Solomon at 36 but would James W be her firstborn at 25? (Maybe we are missing a full dozen kids!) Okay----this list is SLOW!!!! Come on, people----I'm bored! I miss my friends----where are you folks? Sandy Ellis
