    3. Here's a little information on William Gunter. He was quite a character. We believe he faked his death due to a federal tax issue and may have also commited bigamy as he seemed to live in a couple places at one time and have located two potential marriages for him. We have never located him in an 1850 census. I was hoping you might find something. I had no idea there were so many Gunter's in your index. Old Bill Gunter got around so its hard to say where he might have been. Maybe the information will be helpful. Since I can't be specific, it may be too much to ask, and I understand. Thanks for trying. Gunter to Hattie Lancaster, Nov. 9, 1883, Chariton, MO. Martha didn't die until 1900, so DID HE DIVORCE MARTHA? IS THIS A BIGAMOUS MARRIAGE? William Gunter and the Maxey woman were mentioned in Aseanith Stewart's father's will as he spoke badly of them making it certain in clear terms that William Gunter would never receive any of his assets upon his death because William Gunter abandoned his daughter, Aseanith Stewart Gunter and their children. ----- Original Message ----- From: "keith gilmore" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 09, 2004 3:16 AM Subject: Re: [TNDICKSO] Tennessee Land Grants > Dear Rita, > There are numerous Gunter's listed, it would take me a long long time to type them all.
