My great-great grandmother Charlotte Jane Batson was born in 1821 in Tennessee. She married James Thompson, and a statement from a family member says that they migrated from Bear Creek, Tennessee to Belleview Valley, Missouri around 1848. The only two Batsons I find in the 1820 census for Tennessee are Thomas in Montgomery County and Richard in Dickson. Since it appears that there was a Bear Creek community in Dickson County, I'm going to start first with Richard, trying to determine if he could have been Charlotte's father.
