Researchers seem to have handed down the infomation about "Sarah" as a wife for my James D. Petty. I just wish I could find where this information came from. James owned and sold property on the Piney River in Dickson Co, just above the Hickman Co line, but no deed included a wife. With no marriage record in Dickson Co and the records lost in Hickman Co. I'm not sure we'll ever know who she was. Thanks for looking. My great aunts knew all the old family stories, I just wasn't old enough to ask enough questions--like, "who was your grandmother?" "what happened to her?" So now that information seems to be lost in time.
