I f you are from Dickson Country or a county around Dickson County you will find this book very interesting . My guess is you will find relatives listed in the book. You can write Dennis at Dennis Lampley, 7346 Sack Lampley Road, Bon Aqua Tn., 37025, call him at 615-799-0916 or email him at lampleydj@aol.com. if you think you would be interested in the book > I would strongley recommend this book to you. > Billy Jones > 4417 Grand Circle > Crestwood, Ky > 40014 > > > > <ace1125@bellsouth.net> > > Date: 2007/08/05 Sun AM 08:10:15 EDT > > > > > > > > To: <tndickso@rootsweb.com> > > Subject: Re: [TNDICKSO] Yellow Creek Book > > > > Caroline.... 'Bless your heart''...............<g>....... at least for a CHANGE "I" was paying attention!<g> I am in zombi mode so much I dont 'catch' email booboos often! OK . Now we know... this is the Primal Families of the Yellow Creek Valley..... and it is a great resource. > > > > However, it is full of misinformation. Truly it is. BUT that is not a reason to avoid it. It is also FULL of correct information! Billy didnt have the resources to get photographs copied professionally so they would be crisp and clear in the book..... and he hand typed the manuscript on typing paper in his home. It was not proofed and it was very difficult for Stewart to reproduce. No one wanted to take on that project in the states. So I had to use a Canadian Publisher/Printer. When I talked to him last he said the origional manuscripts were in a box in storage someplace in his attic.... It cost me a lot of money to send the manuscript to him.... He wanted me to 'mail it back to me'...but I didnt want to pay postage.... I hope Billy's son has it now. If nothing else it is a great thing for archives of Dickson. Maybe I should follow up on this ? Caroline, can you get Billys sons phone number for me? Send it off list ok? > > > > OK, Diggers, just remember a book, any book is a great tool....and interesting reading. But OFTEN in these books information is not documented... it is hearsay.... word of mouth and for those of you that are hard line genealogists you must 'Dig' out the bottom line of the data. > > > > Billy interviewed practically everyone in Yellow Creek.... did research... was loaned photos... He did a great service for us..... and for his son to reprint PFYCV is super.... I was concerned it would be a dead deal for future Dickson Diggers to get this book.... So now maybe if this book sells Billy's son will do it again in a few years.... or his son. > > > > What I would like to see is for a reprint with revisions... but that would be a monumental task..... > > Probably a job for us to help him someday.... > > > > Caroline it is so good to hear from you............ and thanks for clearing up the faux pa!<g> > > hugs > > Cher > > > > > > > > From: "preston gilmore" <gildent@msn.com> > > > Date: 2007/08/05 Sun AM 06:32:44 EST > > > To: TNDICKSO-L@rootsweb.com > > > Subject: [TNDICKSO] Yellow Creek Book > > > > > > The book name I typed the "People of Yellow Creek" is actually the Primal > > > Families of Yellow Creek.
