Janet Sorry for the Short message. Fortner's are also known as Forkner and are connected to our DNA JOHNSON of Humphreys County Bunch of Cousin's Levi Fortner was the first with Major Robert Burton to settle the Hurricane Creek Settlement of Stewart County before 1800, this area moved into Dickson County some time around 1803, then into Humphreys County in 1813. My DNA lines of John Johnson and wife Anne arrived there in 1805 0r 1807 from memory here. This is son of Hudson Johnson of Hawkins County Tn who in this time era of 180 tell 1803 is in what was Williamson Co. Tn. I have lost contact with my cousin the Fortner researchers of Humphreys County do to the virus's I have had. I am sending this on to the Humphreys County Site for comments and possible recontact with Fortner relatives. But if you go to roots web and look for files by TJStubby, their cross information is posted on one of my many trees, I have posted there. Levi Fortner is married to our group. LOL Tony PS Page 50 of 1888 Goodspeed History Levi Fortner was married to Nancy Curtis if you look for this cross on Roots web it might give some clues. I will type out the whole Bio for you on Fortners. Will take some time Tony ----- Original Message ----- From: Janet Geranmayeh<mailto:JGeranmayeh@Comporium.net> To: Lee Johnson<mailto:sctsmn@charter.net> ; Tony Johnson<mailto:TonyempireOre@msn.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 28, 2006 9:25 AM Subject: Re: Emailing: NC Bertie County Hello Lee, Thank you for writing! The Mary (MNU, could be Roberts)I'm looking for was born about 1795, married to unknown Burton. Had children, Williiam, and Jesse that I know of. Jesse married Polly Fortner, and my Wm married Malissa (possibly maiden Carpenter) and all lived in Rogersville TN. Mary b. 1795 didn't show up anywhere near by that I could find untill the 1870 census age 75, widowed and living the widow of her son, William, Malissa..she was also widowed in 1870. Malissa was born in Indiana, as indicated on some census records. Also, I would like to point out that there is a line of Burtons who changed their name from Trent to Burton and who lived in Lee Valley, Hawkins County, TN..I think relate to my Burton's some how. Namely Wiley Burton who married Debba Blevins. I wish I could find the connection in your site, and I have been there so many times but seems like all these Burton's name their children the same names, so it is very hard to find the connection to these Rogersville Burton! Thanks again for your email and for all that wonderful info you are so generous to share on your website! The Hatcher etc line is on my Moms side, but the Burtons I'm looking for is on my Father's side of the tree and were in Rogersville as far back as I can find is 1850. William and Malissa Burton. Malissa was born in Indiana. William in TN..there was an old Mary Burton, Maiden unknown living with the widowed Malissa in 1870 Old mary was born abt 1795. I am thinking she may be the Polly Roberts who married William Burton, but I can't find what ever went with them after their marriage in Hwks County about 1830 or 1820..can't remember. I have been digging around for a Burton connection for years!!! I think my Wm and Malissa were married in Claiborne County and if this is so, Malissa's maiden name is Carpenter. They married in 1844. ----- Original Message ----- From: Tony Johnson<mailto:TonyempireOre@msn.com> To: Janet Geranmayeh<mailto:JGeranmayeh@Comporium.net> Sent: Monday, November 27, 2006 3:05 PM Subject: Re: Emailing: NC Bertie County Janet the Hatchers are connected to all the families especially your Burton Lines. These are my direct line: Emiline Hatcher d/o Wm Hatcher and Anna Bullock, married Elbert Carden Their daughter, Anna (Nannie) Carden married David Cross. David and Nannie Carden Cross' son, Glenn CRoss married Jenny Eaton. I have her parent's name in my files..I'll look see and let you know..I bet they can be connected to this file of yours! This is my mother's side of the family, we are from Glenn Cross' sister, Elizabeth Cross who married James Carroll so the Eaton's are indirectly related to me. ----- Original Message ----- From: Tony Johnson<mailto:TonyempireOre@msn.com> To: Linda Griffin<mailto:lgtootsiepop@adelphia.net> ; Lisa researcher<mailto:kcks@gorge.net> ; Bobby Lamb<mailto:bobbylamb@prodigy.net> ; Miss Brenda<mailto:BA044@aol.com> ; Donald DNA COUSIN Johnson<mailto:dkjohnson57@yahoo.com> ; Peg Cousin Zaremba<mailto:azaremba@netnitco.net> ; Ed Adams<mailto:eadams2784@united.net> ; Nancy Breidenthal<mailto:breidenthal@mchsi.com> ; Jess researcher HEadley<mailto:jess@ujointsinc.com> ; annharwell<mailto:annharwell@hotmail.com> ; teresa De Rios Stuart<mailto:lilliebelle3@yahoo.com> ; Mary Cousin Holland<mailto:mmholland@alltel.net> ; Euell Johnson<mailto:bigfoot@cyberback.com> ; Barbara Cousin<mailto:bjschenck@gmail.com> ; Leonard Johnson<mailto:leonardjohnson@inner-link.com> ; Mollie Cousin Simspson<mailto:molliesimpson@comcast.net> ; Dottie Cousin<mailto:Dwllex@aol.com> ; Gregory McReynolds<mailto:quillcottage@earthlink.net> ; Helen<mailto:ehr763@ntbroadband.com> ; Jerry researcher McDaniels<mailto:JMCdaniel@cavalry.com> ; Carolyn Mason Anderson<mailto:CCA44@aol.com> ; Carroll Cousin Prewett<mailto:clprewett@msn.com> ; Elaine johnson res Oakes<mailto:eoakes@blueridge.net> ; Joe Cousin Matlock<mailto:joe.matlock@state.tn.us> ; harold Johnson<mailto:hejohnson@comcast.net> ; Helen Cox<mailto:hlnmcox@hotmail.com> ; Olen Lee DNA COUSIN Johnson<mailto:sctsmn@charter.net> ; Linda researcher Starr<mailto:lsstarr@pilgrimage.us> ; Janet Cousin Geranmayeh<mailto:JGeranmayeh@Comporium.net> ; abh_genealogy Amanda Hulse<mailto:abh_genealogy@yahoo.com> ; Bonnie DNA COUSIN Flythe<mailto:FLY1776@rcn.com> ; atpowelljr<mailto:atpowelljr@aol.com> ; Bill Johnson<mailto:imboxcar@yahoo.com> ; William Researcher Hunt<mailto:wmhunt@frontiernet.net> ; Sherrie Boone<mailto:sboone12@cox.net> ; Eric Cousin Beene<mailto:swindsranch@hotmail.com> ; connie<mailto:freckles_46580@yahoo.com> Sent: Sunday, November 26, 2006 4:09 PM Subject: Emailing: NC Bertie County The message is ready to be sent with the following file or link attachments: NC Bertie County Note: To protect against computer viruses, e-mail programs may prevent sending or receiving certain types of file attachments.
