I am especially interested in any Murrell/Payne connection in this family. Does anyone know whether or not any of the Murrell daughters married one of the Payne men around 1800 in VA? I am specifically looking for the parents of Thomas Jefferson Payne, b. 1804, VA, and married Mary "Polly" Moody, and came to Sullivan County, TN to raise his family. Hi Jane, I went through all my Murrell files and didn't find anything. There was a Pryor Pane living 4 houses from Thomas Murrell in the 1820 Dickson Co census.
