Author: Robby Davidson Date: Wednesday, 7 July 2004, at 4:46 p.m. I have looked at the tax lists for Dickson Co. for that time frame. Some years are missing (at least on the microfilm rolls I've found at the Houston Co. Public Library). MORRISETT was a name I would have noted because an Ursella MORRISETT married John JAMES in Dickson Co. (this JAMES family I have researched). The first MORRISETT I see is Isaac MORRISETT in 1840 in Dist. 10. He owned 135 acres of land. He was not listed in 1839 or before. Bad News! The 1841 thru 1846 tax lists are those missing. However, Isaac is still there in 1847 owning the 135 acres. That is as far as my notes go. Sorry, no Richard. They are transcribed in a Word document. Would you like for me to send those notes to you via email? A good portion of District 10 is now in Houston County, TN which was formed in 1871. The Isaac MORRISETT family lived only a few miles from the Montgomary County line. Also, I'm in contact with a MORRISETT descendent out in California and she has a considerable amount of MORRISETT family history. I would be happy to ask her to contact you. Perhaps your Richard of Montgomery Co. and her Isaac of Dickson Co. were brothers? Russ James of Houston Co.
