I went there Nov of 2003 and never got to see anything. I went down the road and saw a cemetary that I assumed may have been Monk Cemetary but didnt see anything else. Who was the descendant of Simpson Haley? Simpson was the older bother of my 3 ggrandfather William Lytle Haley who is buried in Haley-Redden cemetery on Garners Creek. There parents were Andrew Haley and Carrie Dossett Haley, both from Orange Co NC. Married 1817 in Orange Co NC. Was the old house off of Plunders Creek Rd? Andrew had a grant of 98 acres in Dickson Co off of Plunders Creek in 1849. I think the Dickson - Hickman Co line on that rd is where the blacktop ends. Hickman Co hasnt paved it yet. Did you get any info as to where Simpson is buried ? He died at a fairly old age and did have a son named James but not old enough to be your James. Who was the descendant and do you have an address on him or her. Would love to talk to him or her. T! here was a James the son of Thomas and Agetha Shearin Haley living next to Simpson in the 1850 censes in Hickman Co if memory serves me. It may be the 1860 census but I'll check if you havent seen it. Also Andrew's brother Isaac was on the Dickson Co census of 1840 with male children. He married a 2nd time to Rossanah Grey 4April 1848. She is on the 1850 census but he is not. I suspect he died before 1850. Maybe your James could be one of his children, or maybe Nancy could be one of his daughters... Who knows...would appreciate any info you may have, Thanks Todd
