He shows the children of Joseph and Martha Ann, in addition to Abner, as Hugh, James [m. Mary McCauley], Martha [m. William Trotter], Margaret [m. Allen E. Brown], William, Anna Kate [m. Mathew McCauley], John B. [m. Nancy L. Binkley], Joseph D. [m. Sarah A. Duvall], A. Wilson [m. Mary A. Lewis]. As I am not a Dickson, the only one of these families that I have personally researched is John B. Dickson and Nancy L. Binkley, who was the daughter of my great-great grandparents Frederick Binkley and Adeline Shackleford. [Frederick was one of the carpenters who built Travellers Rest for John Overton. He and Adeline were the grandparents of Dr. David Campbell Kelley Binkley, who married Abner Dickson's daughter Florence Eudora.] John B. Dickson and Nancy L. Binkley were married on 5 Dec. 1846 in Dickson County and had children Gustavus Augustus [abt.1848-1883], Milton Foster [abt. 1849-1870], Anne M. [b. abt. 1852], Newton Ethelred [b. abt. 1854], Emma A. [1856-1878], John Bell [b. 1858], Neppie Louise [b. 1860, m. Thomas Haskins], and Jasper. These children have been difficult to track, several have died young, and so far I have found no grandchildren for John and Nancy. John B. Dickson died in 1894; Nancy died in 1868.
