    3. Doug - Have you tried talking with the landowner in a very pleasant way, the way you would like to be approached? I have found most people who understand a problem will help you solve it. I just found my ggg grandfathers Jones Family Cemetery (which consist of only 7 graves) on his old farm. The owner knew it was there, but had no idea of the family descendants as no one had ever approached him. He was very nice and advised he would be glad to help me, that I was more than welcome to come back anytime to restore the cemetery. This I plan to do. Good luck. I understand that I would have to take him to court. This takes money that I don't have. And landowners can be forced to fence and maintain a burial ground on his property, and also allow a right of way or access to the families of the deceased buried on his property. > > Wayne McCormick > > Billy Jones wrote: > > > Betty Collier - I am told in some states that the landowner must fence a graveyard before he allows cattle or any type of livestock to roam through the cemetery. You may want to check to see if this is true in Tn. and maybe you can get the problem solved. GOOD LUCK. YOU WOULD THINK PEOPLE WOULD BE MORE CONSIDERATE. > > > > Billy Jones > > > > From: betty collier > > Sent: Wednesday, August 29, 2001 8:04 AM > > To: TNDICKSO-L@rootsweb.com > > Subject: Re: [TNDICKSO] Is anyone there? > > > > By the way did you get to the Linzy graveyard at the end of Slater Rd? not much left after that clown placed feeders in the tree grove. > > > > betty collier wrote: > > > > > So glad to hear of it did you get to the Charlotte cemetery? and if so I need directions. doug collier > > > > > > Mollie Simpson wrote: > > > > > > > Janet and I have been out today..
