Does anyone research the surname Ryan? I have a William Ryan who married Elizabeth Galloway in 1847 Dickson Co. They can be found in Rutherford Co on the 1850 census, both 22 and born in TN (no children). I have then found a William Ryan who married a Sarah E. Parnell in 1855 (Dickson Co). I think I have found the correct William Ryan in 1860 Williamson Co (age 31 married to S.E.) The age for him works & the initials for her work. Based on her age (23), I suspect that she is the oldest daughter of Daniel E. Parnell who 1st married Sally Barnhart in the 1830's (Dickson Co) then divorced her in Jun 1840 and remarried Minerva Galloway in Jul 1840. On the 1840 census Daniel has only 1 child a girl, under 5, making the birth year bracket the same as this Sarah Parnell who married Wm. Ryan. It's funny how the families intermixed back then.
