Prier or Pryor Scroggins Probably born ca. 1799 or 1800 Assigned to road work in Dickson court minutes, Oct. 1817 (Under Samuel Sparks, "from William Millers to the nine mile tree") Probably moved to Madison County, IL, in early 1818 Minerva Scroggins Born in Dickson County, 1816 One Illinois county history says she and her mother moved from Dickson County to Illinois in 1829, but many of her presumed siblings appear in Illinois records before then. Minerva is buried in the Wayne Cemetery in Macoupin County, Illinois, just a few yards away from Archelaus Walker, who was originally from Dickson County and was mentioned in Rayna's message. Smith Scoggins or Scroggins From Wake County, North Carolina, last mentioned there in 1818 and 1820 Appears in Hickman County census, 1830 Appears in Lincoln County, Tennessee, census, 1840 and 1850 Probably NOT related to the above three folks I'm looking for more information and documentation on all these folks, especially exactly where they lived in the area, where they were just before and after (migration routes), and any relatives. Also, there were Scoggins and Scroggins families recorded (under various spellings) in Christian, Trigg, and Warren Counties, Kentucky, during the same general time period (probably four distinct families). They do NOT seem to be directly related to the folks listed above. John M. Scroggins [email protected]
