My husband's uncle, Alfred A/C FREEMAN 1888 TN - 1954 AL, was 1st m to Audrey ADCOCK in AL abt 1912. However, I have determined that her family was from Dickson Co, TN and I found them there in 1910 and 1930, but in Birmingham, AL in 1920. Audrey ADCOCK prob b abt 1894, d abt 1916 AL, following the deaths of her 2 young daughters. I think I have identified her family, but since the possible Audrey appears as a son in 1900 and a dau in 1910, I cannot be sure. The name is Aubry in 1900 and the Andrey in 1910 appears to be a mistranscription of Audrey. Can anyone help me with this family ? Alfred's dau, Freda, from his 2nd mar who is now 79, would like to confirm Audrey's identity and her relationship to Sonny's (see below) family. Audrey also had a sister, Amby / Ambie, who lived w/ Alfred and his family at one time in AL, but we are having problems determining her exact identity. Freda was a baby sitter for Sonny's ch in the late '40's and early '50's. In 1900 Dickson Co, TN, Audrey appears as Aubry A 5, son of James E 32 and Peachie M 28 ADCOCK. Siblings are: Lowell C 9, Henry G 3, and Maud E 4/12. A sister-in-law, Mattie O BROWN 30, is also listed. In 1910 Dickson Co, TN, Audrey is listed as a dau, but her name is indexed Andrey age 16. Parents are J J ADCOCK 54 and Susie 44. They have been mar 30 years and 6 of 8 ch are living. Siblings are: C G 24 son (where was he in 1900 ?), Clara 14, Amold (Arnold) 9 6/12. What happened to Maud E who would be abt 10 now ? In 1920 Birmingham, Jefferson Co, AL, the parents are listed: ADCOCK, Jim 62 Susie 55 Arnold 19 In 1930 Dickson Co, TN, Arnold's family is listed: ADCOCK, Arnold 28 (full name Paul Arnold) Ruth 23 (nee REGISTER) Carl 7 (b 14 Apr 1923, Carl Lemelle, known as Sonny, lived AL as an adult) Wallace 5 (Ray Wallace) Can anyone help me with the correct middle name for James/Jim ADCOCK, the maiden name of Peachie or Susie, parents / family of either James / Jim ADCOCK or his wife, Peachie / Susie ? Are Peachie / Susie the same person or two different wives ? I did see some ADCOCK postings in the 2001-2003 Dickson Archives, but am not sure who is still active or currently on this list.
