Sent you another note today. You indicated your wife's ancestor was Jane Baker, daughter of William H. Baker married to Virginia Caroline Pullen b. 1844 the daughter of Nelson Bean Pullen. The 1870 and 1880 census does not show them as having a daughter other than Alice. They were both living with their respective parents on the 1860 census. Consequently they must have married abt 1864 since first child was born abt 1865; son William M. Baker and Alice B. in 1869. There is no daughter born later shown on the 1880 census. The last son was born in 1887 and Haywood must have died after 1887 but prior to the 1900 census. Virginia (Callie) is shown as widow on 1900 census living with one of her sons. This son's younger brother was also with her and older son. That is only way I determined the younger son existed since he was not born in time to make the 1880 census. Can you clarify if I understood correctly that your wife's ancestor was Jane Baker; daughter of William H Baker and Virginia C. on the 1870 and 1880 census.?
