He had a twin brother (less well known), James STEWART. Duncan moved to Mississippi and became Lt. Govenor of that state. James remained in Montgomery Co. but shortly before his own death he traveled to Mississippi so he could be buried with his twin brother Duncan. Not Dickson Co. History right? Well, I've come to the conclusion that the aforementioned "James STEWART", a widower, married 2nd Jane MOLTON DICKSON, the widow of Joseph DICKSON (whose Will is the first recorded in Dickson County) and would like to exchange information with anyone interested. It's a long story but it is supported by the fact that Alexander DICKSON (a nephew of Joseph DICKSON and Jane MOLTON) who owned a plantation at the point Old Town Branch (now just Town Branch) entered Yellow Creek, married a daughter of James STEWART by his first wife. That land is that currently owned by the family of "Little" Hugh DICKSON, now deceased, and Mary Evelyn WISEMAN. The brick wall I've hit is that I don't know where Jane MOLTON DICKSON STEWART is buried. She may have remained in Montgomery Co. TN on the plantation left to her by James STEWART in his Will or moved with her husband to Mississippi shortly before his death. According to NESBITT, Joseph DICKSON and his mother-in-law are both buried in a cemtery near Cedar Creek Road and Hwy 46 in Dickson Co. but he didn't claim the widow "Jane" was also buried there. I would just like to compare some research information with anyone interested. Russ James of Houston Co.
