Can I ask you for another lookup? Following is an article from the Dickson Herald: The following was transcribed from "The Dickson County Herald" newspaper published Friday, August 23, 1918: "Amos Spicer's Body Found In Woods - Had Been Missing From His Home on Turnbull For Several Months. The finding of the body of Mr. Amos Spicer Wednesday morning under an old tree top two miles from his home clears up a mystery that has been the talk in that neighborhood for the past several months. The body was discovered by Lonnie Buttrey about 500 yards from the White Bluff road while he was hunting a strayed cow according to information received. Mr. Spicer lived at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mason Buttrey, at the time of his disappearance several months ago. She and other members of the family were absent from the home only a short time the day he disappeared, and from that day until the finding of body, no clue had been found that gave any promise of unraveling the mystery of his disappearance, as no one in the neighborhood had seen Mr. Spicer leave the premises. A reward was offered by Mason Buttrey and his wife for the finding of the latter's father. The skeleton and tattered clothing found clears up the mystery as to Mr. Spicer's whereabouts. It is surmised that Mr. Spicer who was old and almost blind, had attempted to walk to White Bluff, and in doing so, wandered away and became lost in the woods and finally becoming exhausted sought the covering protection of the fallen tree-top, where he expired. A coroner's jury, however, will be empaneled today, we understand, to make investigations. The last sentence of the article said a coroners jury was to be empaneled to investigate." Please see if any folloow on investigation was reported. Paul Beck
