Page 101- Printed on August 1, 1913 - Bruce -Madden Alvin Bruce and Miss Callie Madden were married Sunday Afternoon at Payne Springs, (Located near what is now Hwy 70 West; the Springs were purchased in 1913 and became the town's water supply.) Esq. J. A. Lunn performing the ceremony. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lem Bruce and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Madden. Pages 131 - Printed on July 23, 1915 - Mr. L. M. Bruce, aged 68 years, died in a Nashville Hospital Sunday night (Davidson Death Records- Lem Bruce, about 77, died July 18. 1915, after operation for double hernia, burial Dickson County, no Cemetery given.{probably buried either Wills or Bruce Cemetery but no marker in either one}) where he had been taken that morning and underwent an operation for a chronic ailment. His remains were brought here Monday morning and conveyed to his home on Piney where interment took place Monday evening at 5:00 (According to a book with the author names as Garrett, Volume one on page 225 - L. M. Bruce; thought to be buried in Wills Cemetery) He was the last member of the family of Lemuel Bruce of which there were 14 children. He was a bachelor and those who knew him best are free in stating that a more honest man never lived. Nothing for Frances Drusilla Bruce Harry Leathers Page 164 - August 18, 1916, Among Important Cases Decided by Circuit Court, State vs. Harry Leathers. Leathers was charged with speeding an automobile on the public highway and was fined $25.00 and cost.
