The 11th Tennessee Infantry was assigned to Preston Smith's Brigade of Benjamin F. Cheatham's Division. Although Camp Cheatham was named after this same General Benjamin F. Cheatham, this division hospital is no reference to "Camp Cheatham" where the regiment was trained in the late spring of 1861. Cheatham's Division hospital was simply a designation for a field hospital probably located in a church or residence in Shelbyville and was used specifically for the men of Cheatham's Division. M. Mike, Shelbyville is in Bedford County and I believe the seat is Shelbyville. Todd
