Hi to all of you and welcome to the newbies! I have been lurking and monitoring all your messages in the hopes that someone will mention one of my line . Nothing has cropped up so far except my mentions. Here it is again. My 3 great grandfather, Noah KELLEY, married Hannah HICKS, in Wilson County in 1806. In 1813 a Noah KELLEY (mine?) sold some land to a John NALL in Dickson County. I have copies of both those records. According to censuses beginning in 1840 for the oldest sons, the family moved to IL (Montgomery and Franklin Co's). My brick wall is this: All the children (6 that I know of) list their birthplace as TN, yet I have been unable to find any trace of them actually living there! No census, tax records, etc. I have been told that they likely were living with relatives and Noah was not head of household. He would not show up, therefore, on any census. Not knowing any names of Noah's siblings, parents, or others makes it hard to find them. A Richard HICKS signed the marriage bond for Hannah--no records for him either. Noah and Hannah HICKS KELLEY, both born ca. 1785 children: James, b. ca 1809 Silas, b. ca. 1812 Elizabeth, b. ca 1814 Isaac, b. 1820 (my direct line) Marth, b. ca 1821 Noah, b. ca 1823 HELP!!!
