Hi all, my name is Pat McRae, and I live in Jeffersonville, IN, which is right across the Ohio River from Louisville, KY. I was raised in Chattanooga, TN . I have been involved in genealogy for about 3 years, and have met a lot of lost cousins. The lines I am researching in the Dickson area are the HALL's & FUSSELL's. I had spent 2 years searching for the HALL's in the Hamilton Co. area, because I knew my ggrandmother and a nephew were living there at the beginning of the 20th century. I guess you have had the experience of searching for a surname in the census, and obituaries, like Smith, Jones, Hall, Thompson, and etc. It is a nightmare. I searched for the HALL's in Hamilton Co. records and could find nothing. A cousin in Calif. sent me information from the 1860 census, and next to one of the siblings names was a note of Dickson Co. That was truely a blessing, because I visited the Dickson Site, and posted a message to all that were searching the same names, and I have been flooded with information from Suzanne, and Ben. Suzanne has been researching for about 15 years, and Ben, I am not sure how long. When I found them, the Good Lord, must have thought I had paid my dues, and deserved a break. You all are a warm and friendly group, and the best genealogy group that I have signed onto as a member. I plan to visit Dickson, for the first time this fall, and am really looking forward to the trip.
