I recently found the following at the Arizona State Genealogical Library, and am very excited about it: NESBITT, JOHN SR. (b 12-8-1753 Ireland/d 5-11-1841 Charlotte) bur. on home place Dickson Co., Nesbittcem. hilltop about 3 mi. SW of Charlotte on Barton's CR., no marker; a grey rock enclosure 11 x 12 ft. thought to contain John Nesbitt; fence down; service NC Mil; 1832 pen. list gives age 78; 1840 census -living with Allen Nesbitt. m Jean Ewing b Scotland, died Dickson Co; Ch:Thomas b 12-23-1791/d 1867; John b 7-5-1795;Fannie b. 1-10-1798m Walker; Robert b 1-17-1800/d 8-9-1880 m 9-28-1826 Sarah Jordan; Allen b 1--1807. I descend fromJohn Nesbitt, Sr., through his son, John, who married Martha Tycer,daughter of Ellis Tycer and Rachel Stansbury (we're all stil trying to find the documentation for this,but are sure it is the case)
