Bobby: I would love to have a copy of the "Over Eighty" book. I live in Dayton, Ohio, and my family contributed Hedge, Gunn & Coleman stories to the upcoming Dickson County book. Just let us know what the cost of the Over Eighty book will be. You might think about having a "publication party" (if you haven't already) on a weekend following delivery of the Dickson book, so that all of the contributors, genealogists, etc can come to Dickson and pick up their copies. It would be nice to meet other Dickson people who are involved. Those of us from out of town will need for the party to be on a weekend and a little bit of notice. At this time the dues are $15.00 per year. The society is interested in local Dickson County history and the preservation of it. The next meeting will be 9th July, 2007 at > 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Eastside Community Center on East Iron Hill Road. The program will be a presentation by Steve Wilson on the improvements that have been made to the building and the plans for its use. There will be refreshments after the meeting. > > There are many things that are being discussed about implementation here in Dickson County with the Historical Society. We are wrapping up on the Heritage Book project and all material is at Walsworth Publishing Company. One of the things that will be coming out is an "over 80's" publication. We hope to have it available by the time the Heritage Book arrives in late summer to mid fall. We will be selling it here locally and if there is interest to people outside of Dickson County we will seek to come up with a price for it to be shipped to you. I will share that with you at a latter time. We are also in the process of discussing publishing a Historical / Genealogy Quarterly. If we get this implemented we will have to look at the cost factor and there will probably be a small increase in the annual dues. When we get this rolling we will be seeking guest writers for the stories. This project will follow the work on the Heritage Book. > > Thank you for your interest in Dickson County History and Genealogy. > > Bobby Prosser, Vice President Dickson County Historical Society > prossergenealogy@comcast.net > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TNDICKSO-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TNDICKSO-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
