Hello everyone. Am new to list and am trying to find info on Felix (?J.) Lampley. If I'm reading census correctly, he is the son of Jackson (?C.) Lampley. According to 1900 census in Dickson Co., Felix was born March 1881. He married Sarah Jennie "Jane" Greer, prob. in Hickman Co. According to 1910 census, Civil Dist. 3, Dickson Co., Felix and "Jeanie", had 2 sons, John W. born abt. 1903 and Clarence J. born abt. 1907. Would like to have a death date and burial location for Felix and wife Sarah Jennie "Jane" (born April 1881), and would like to know what became of their sons. Sarah is a desc. of Edward Giles (died Sumner Co., TN. 1800-1801), and can share her ancestry with anyone who might want it. Thank you so very much- Mary Stuart

Petty <http://www.tngenweb.org/dickson/webbbs/queries/index.cgi?rev=1036> AUTHOR: Sharolyn Petty DATE: Monday, 2 July 2007, at 3:03 p.m. Looking for a Sarah. Does any Dickson/Hickman family have a Sarah, or any other daughter, who would be the right age to have married James D. Petty in the early 1820s? Perhaps, you know of a family will etc which might mention any Petty grandchildren? James D. Petty b. ca 1797 NC was the son of Thomas & Jane (Darwin) Petty. Born in NC, Jim moved to Dickson Co with his family ca 1807 and was raised on his father's farm on the Piney River, part of which Jim later owned and then sold by 1840s. Researchers list Jim's wife as "Sarah" b. 1804 in NC. I have no hint where such info came from; no documenation; just Sarah. Their oldest child William Carroll Petty was born 12-18-1824 on the Piney, in Dickson Co and married Susan DeShazer of Hickman Co TN. This family appears on Hickman Co records as often as Dickson Co. Their youngest child Sarah L. Petty was born 5-1-1842 on the Piney River in Dickson Co. Sarah(?) must have died then or shortly after. Another daughter Elizabeth Levina (Betty) married into the Hedge family of Humphries Co. After baby Sarah was born, Jim sold his property in Dickson and Benton Co, probably moving to Arkansas before he fought in the Mexican War and moved to Texas--and there is no mention of a wife. That's about all I have. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Sharolyn Petty Wood *************************************************************************** This is an automatically-generated notice. Joe, Thank you for suggesting that you would like to join the Dickson County Historical Society, although you live out of the area and would not be able to attend the meeting. I have already had one lady to tell me that the check was in the mail for dues although she lives out of the area. She wanted to support our efforts and that is appreciated. We do have a periodic newsletter. We are anticipating other things. Any and all support is appreciated.. You may send your dues to Dickson County Historical Society, P. O. Box 1922, Dickson, TN. 37056. The Society year runs as the calendar year January - December. At the present the dues are $15.00. When we get started with the Dickson County Historical Society Quarterly, there will have to be an increase in dues in order to pay for the expense of printing and mailing the quarterly. Hi Bobby, Looking forward to getting a copy of "Over 80's" book. With folks like myself that are not in the vicinity of Dickson can they still pay dues and become members of the Dickson County Historical Society? Believe me, I know this all takes time, money and people. IF there would be some way that I could help on any of this I would sure be willing to see what I could do. Being over 600 miles away I don't know what I could do but you never know. Thanks for all the updates on the Heritage Book coming out in the fall. I ordered mine the beginning of last year when I got your first e-mail and really looking forward to receiving it. I appreciate all the work you and your partners at the Historical Society have done and are doing.
