    2. My name is Suzanne. I live in Alabama. I've been with this list since before 1998. It is a really special group. It is through this list that I have made contact with four cousins of my HALL and AUSTIN ancestors. Pat of Indiana and I are connected through the HALL line and Ben Hall and I are double connected, meaning that our HALL and AUSTIN ancestors married each other and we are related to each other through both lines. I've found two new and special cousins and friends in them just this year. Faye and Charlotte helped me a lot when I first came in and Mary Carol and I are hunting for Cunningham ancestors. Bob Carney helped me with my Carney line in Davidson County. So you newbies, don't be discouraged, just keep looking and asking and answering roll calls and get on the surname list, it really does work. That's how Pat and I got together. My AUSTIN grandfathers married a RICHARDSON, and a CARR . My HALL s married a CUNNINGHAM in the area. My ancestors lived pretty much in the Burns area as far as I can tell. Everyone on this list is so helpful and kind, it makes me proud my ancestors chose such a fine place as Dickson County to locate themselves.

    3. Michelle- I received some info this week saying that Mary Halliburton, child of John Davis and Julie Halliburton married John Willis Foster. Do you have any record of a marriage for the Mary you mentioned below to Willis Foster? This was the first time I had heard this so of course it peaked my interest. I believe that John Willis Foster's wife Mary (Polly) was an Owen or Owens not a Halliburton but thus far have been unable to prove her surname. My GG Grandfaterh John Calvin Bailey married for the second time, Missouri Frances Halliburton on 9 Jan 1887 in Dickson County TN. 2. gildent
    3. Oh, I must have missed that one! I'll look back through my emails and hope I haven't already deleted it! Thanks for the tip! Incase I already deleted it (it's a pity for disorganization (to many fires on my poor iron!) to be so painfully obvious) If anyone out there is researching any of the following "Gilmore's" We'd be most interested in any info! MATTHEW GILMORE--dob circa 1769 married MARGARET LOGAN in Blount County Tn. in 1800 and then moved to Dickson County . Matthew Gilmore had the following siblings : JANE GILMORE----married JAMES MCCRORY son of THOMAS MCCRORY the couple lived in the Davidson/Williamson county area. ELIZABETH GILMORE---married GEORGE DAVIDSON who fought in the Rev.War. The couple lived in Humphrey's/Dickson County area for a large part of their lives. They had two children Jane and George Davidson MARY GILMORE--married ALEX SCOTT who fought in the Rev.War. They lived in Blount County Tn. circa 1800, I lost them after that. JAMES GILMORE--married Sarah McKinney JOhn Gilmore--lived in the Davidson Tn.area WIlliam Gilmore--lived on Barton's Creek in Dickson County for a good portion of his life. A mystery person is MARGARET CONN of the "State of Delaware" circa 1820 who left the above persons as her "legal heirs". I don't know if she is another sister, mother, cousin or what! Another lister Susy, also has a Gilmore Connection that married into her TEAS family, I don't have her info. handy. Well, if any of this sounds familiar to anyone out there I'd be most happy to go on some more about it!!!!!! Have a great night Ya'll!!! 1. [TNDICKSO] Hi there!
    2. Hi to all of you and welcome to the newbies! I have been lurking and monitoring all your messages in the hopes that someone will mention one of my line . Nothing has cropped up so far except my mentions. Here it is again. My 3 great grandfather, Noah KELLEY, married Hannah HICKS, in Wilson County in 1806. In 1813 a Noah KELLEY (mine?) sold some land to a John NALL in Dickson County. I have copies of both those records. According to censuses beginning in 1840 for the oldest sons, the family moved to IL (Montgomery and Franklin Co's). My brick wall is this: All the children (6 that I know of) list their birthplace as TN, yet I have been unable to find any trace of them actually living there! No census, tax records, etc. I have been told that they likely were living with relatives and Noah was not head of household. He would not show up, therefore, on any census. Not knowing any names of Noah's siblings, parents, or others makes it hard to find them. A Richard HICKS signed the marriage bond for Hannah--no records for him either. Noah and Hannah HICKS KELLEY, both born ca. 1785 children: James, b. ca 1809 Silas, b. ca. 1812 Elizabeth, b. ca 1814 Isaac, b. 1820 (my direct line) Marth, b. ca 1821 Noah, b. ca 1823 HELP!!! Pat in WA State

    1. [TNDICKSO] Sharing Information
    2. Hi to all the new folks, My name is Joyce and I live in MI. I am sure all of the new folks will be very happy with this group of wonderful people. You will never be able to find a Chief Digger like Cher, she is a gooden, she will always help you no matter what the topic, Mollie, she really has her hands full now and has for some time but you can always depend on her, and Jay Cee always blows me away with the beautiful poems she lets us enjoy and there are others of course, but those are just a couple. I have not been on the computer a great deal lately but I try to get on when I can. Hopefully when my husband is better I will be back on more and try to help out lots more than I have. I promise when things turn around a little I will do look ups for you. My surnames are BELL, BRYANT, ENGLAND, ESTES, HAMER, REDDEN. All of these folks are from Dickson County and I would appreciate any information that you may have and I will share. It may take me a while to answer you but I will get back to you in time. Enjoy the group! Joyce

    3. Sandy, A couple of years ago when I first got on the computer I got an e-mail from your brother. At the time he didn't have anything on a Jesse Walker. Maybe things have changed since then. Maybe he could give me a holler. My Caroline Fitsgerald was born in South Carolina. Now I am assuming her maiden name was Fitsgerald. On the 1850 census there was a Ann Fitsgerald living in the same household as Jesse and Caroline and I'm figuring that was the mother in law . She was also from South Carolina. It is so strange that there is no record of Jesse Walker in Tennessee in the 1840 census. Oops, it's storming here and the lights are blinking. I'm going to close before the electricity goes out.
