    3. Do you have any information on Parthenia Halliburton? She was married to George Washington Oliver who lived in Dickson in 1840 - 1850, then moved on to Stoutland Missouri. If you have any information regarding George, I would appreciate it. I have more info regarding Parthenia Halliburton. 1. [TNDICKSO] John Henderson WALL
    2. I have a couple of questions maybe someone out there can answer. John Henderson WALL apparently married 3 times: 1. Malinda "Minnie" HAMPTON, 2. Devona Foust ROBERTS, and (Is Foust possibly her maiden name & Roberts from a prior marriage? 3. Emma BAGGETT He had at least three children: Luther WALL Charlie WALL Elijah O. WALL b. January 1900 In the 1900 Census I found John living with wife Emma and their 4 month old son Elijah O. in Montgomery County, TN. They had been married for 1 year and she had had only 1 child. They were living next door to John BAGGETT & wife Malinda (WALL) and family, and 2 doors from Margaret (PROCTOR) WALL (widow) and 7 of her 14 living children. Malinda (WALL) and John Henderson WALL are both children of Margaret. 1. Does anyone know when he married the other two wives and who the other sons belong to? The Census lists his DOB as May 1868 age 32, and Emma as September 1876 age 22. I suspect he had been married before he married Emma. 2. Does anyone know the parents of John BAGGETT and Emma (BAGGETT) WALL? I have John listed as Landy "Cal" BAGGETT, but the Census says John. Thank you, Gerrie in Alabama

    3. Lenora, here's what I "might" know. Martha is the great-granddaughter of Jesse and Sarah Harkleroad Bartee. Her grandfather was J.W. Bartee. Her father's 1st wife died and he was 'up in years' when he married her mother. Her mother said that Jesse's name was really John. She also said that J.W. was John William. J.W. married Lucy Bullock. Martha has the Bartee/Bullock Bible with names/dates. She also has the receipt where J.W. paid for Sarah's coffin---and as a child, she used to "help" (go with) her Dad when he cleaned the old Bullock Cemetery (Montgomery County). He showed her where Sarah is buried but there is no marker. The name "Jesse" means "son of David"---now this seems a little far-fetched but so does a lot of things!---There was a David Bartee in Montgomery County about 1806. He was excused from jury duty because he was in poor health. A David Bartee died in Montgomery County a short time after one was excused from jury duty---we haven't determined if it was the same David Bartee (yet). That Bible that Martha has----well, there is a notation and I don't have a copy of it (yet) but it mentions David, father of Jesse----and gives a date of death very close to the date we've found! There is also the possibility that Jesse had a brother named John. Martha is digging through her notes because she doesn't remember the specifics about John. I sparked her memory when I mentioned there being a John Bartee listed in the Deed Books in Overton County, TN. We know the Bartee family lived in the Montgomery/Dickson County area and are still trying to fit the pieces together. Will keep you updated as I learn more. Sandy Ellis

I would also like to know the name of the book, the publisher, and any address where we might could write for info on the book if you think of it. Thank you so much for caring to share this info and for bringing it home to us! Typically, I didn't write it down-sorry! It has letters to the newspaper, of Dickson County natives who were born around 1850-1860, and were still living in the early nineteen hundreds. Faye, Molly, or Cher, might have the book, but just in case, I copied some of the pages, and if anyone is interested, I'll mail them a copy of what I found. I copied a letter by Silas Oliphant, born 30 June, 1859,son of Presley Ward Oliphant and Mary Fitzhugh. Another one is the letter of Molly Jones Underhill, daughter of Charlie and Plina Bouldin Jones. She was born June 5, 1857. Another is Peter Monroe Carver, son of Cornelius Carver, and Georgia Ann Anderson. Peter was born Jan. 6, 1855. I do have a bad copy of the letter by Laura Street Taylor, daughter of A.B. and Mary Street. She was born Dec. 20, 1858, on Yellow Creek, near Ruskin. I'll try to get a better copy next time, if anyone is interested in her. There aren't a lot of these, but I'll make some differnet copies next time, if anyone is interested. I'm afraid I didn't have time to note all of the surnames in these letters. Sorry for any disappointment. Karen Alexander ______________________________

    2. Sandra Ellis
    3. Does anyone have access to information in the Dickson Co. Will Book "B"? There is a John BARTEE listed in the index and I sure would like to know what that will says. It should have been recorded around 1830. Sarah Harkleroad was married to Jesse Bartee. Jesse was thrown from a horse and died (in Dickson Co.) in 1829. I'm looking for "anything" that has Jesse, John, John William, or David BARTEE on it prior to 1830. Thanks! Sandy Ellis

    3. Today at the Nashville Archives I found a Death Certificate for Andrew Jackson England. I will list below everything I copied: #23877 Andrew Jackson England b. Mar 17, 1859 died: Nov 9, 1935 Cheatham Co., Tn, White Bluff, dist. 5 Married - wife: Mary England died of pneumonia Last worked Jan. 1934 Father: ANDERSON ENGLAND Mother: PHILADELPHIA DUNAWAY, born TN Information given by: Elsie Bell of White Bluff. Buried: Taylor Cem (I think. - a little hard to make out) bur. Nov 10, 1935 Undertaker Dickson Fun. Co., Dickson, TN Ok, some of you knowledgable people - It looks like Philadelphia England was Anderson's wife, not daughter. She had children listed as being born before 1850. She was on the 1850 Dksn Census with Anderson England and his wife?, Elizabeth (Could this Elizabeth be his dau. She was 24 years younger than he was) So, was she married 1st to someone named Dunaway, or is this her maiden name and has anyone found a marriage date for Anderson and Philadelphia. Her dau. Tennesse A. was born 1847, Newton born 1850 so, they were not Anderson's but Andrew Jackson England was born 1859 and his death certificate definitely lists them as his parents. Anybody got any ideas or info on this? Glenda

    1. [TNDICKSO] CARROLL and EVERETT families
    2. Hi Dickson researchers! I am trying to find the parents of my ancestor John C. CARROLL b. 10 Oct 1829. He married Priscillia Jane EVERETT dau of Aquilla EVERETT. I had suspected that John's father was William CARROLL who shows up in 1840 and 1850 in Dickson Co. (and his sons show up in later censuses), but now I'm not sure if there is any connection. Another of Aquilla's daughters married Robert CARROLL, who I suspect is a brother to John. John and Robert both went to Nacogdoches County, Texas. Anyone researching these families? L.C.
