Hello Folks, My mother's memorial service is scheduled to be at 9:00 A.M. at Taft Church of Christ this Thursday on June 14, 2001. Graveside service will follow. Roger, Terry and I will be leading the song service, and I am asking for special prayer for my family. There are 13 grandchildren, of which the 9 boys will serve as honorary pallbearers. We thought this would be a special tribute to our mother's memory and make a special impression on the kids, especially,,,and specially!! Brother Darrell Perry will officiate in both services for our mom, Nellie Dimple Brown. She was born on July 2, 1920 and passed from this life to a better one on June 7, 2001. She was the daughter of Lawrence Harbert Harrington and Mollie Baker, and was born in Bon Aqua, Hickman, Tennessee. Sincere Thanks !! Sarah, if you get any information, will you pass it on to me. My package arrived yesterday and I am wondering if I should return it unopened. Dorothy
Dear Sara, My experience with the Online Images at Ancestry.Com has been mixed. Overall to me they have been worth the expenditure because otherwise I would not have had any access to the census data. However, there are a couple of points that you might take to heart: (1) There are no indices that can help save time in searching for the 1850 and later censi unless you have a different source for such indices. (2) In my case, my internet access speed is very limited by the communication lines (not my modem, etc), and bringing up the images is frustratingly slow. When I can gain access to a computer/modem set up that has speedier lines, access/browsing time is great, however. (3) Ancestry.Com still has bugs in their system. I have had difficulties accessing the images on several occasions. They eventully have worked out the bugs, but my estimate is that they have had problems about 10 to 15 percent of the time I've been subscribed. The longest down time (time I couldn't access the images I wanted to view) was about 3 days. Overall, I think they are worth the fee. So....that's one man's opinion. I am thinking of subscribing to the Ancestry Online Census Images and wonder if anyone on this list is a subscriber and can tell me if they have found the images worth the money. Perhaps you should e-mail me privately as on another list we were asked not to discuss Ancestry because it is a sponsor of Rootsweb. Sara Binkley Tarpley

Would anyone have access to newspapers to look up an obituary for Eldon Hightower Wall who died 24 May 1967? I'm not sure if it would have been Dickson or Clarksville. Thanks, Michelle

Lenora, I recommend to you Nortons System Works. He fixes just about anything. ! WandaT
Hi Nettye! No i did not htink you forgot! I Appreciate you taking the time to send the info! WandaT
HI from Lenora........ my computer has been having seizures of which I can find no doctor that seems to fix it once and for all..isnt it bad enough that my body is getting older without the insult that my MAIN contact via the computer seems to be aging too! Really three years old apparently in the computer world it is required that you throw one out every three years....okay I can even understand that part of the modern world... the part that drives me up the wall is that this week I spoke with five different techs via telephone and none gave the same answer... So I thought I had jsut gotten everything erased and might have to sart all over agin....ahhh relief now that you have written..
Would be very interested in these Hudsons...actually after many years of search all we knew was the my grndmother always appeared as Aramenta H Hays... and as did her brother have an H. after his name....we thought that the other childrens name were just carlessness by the census taker. that they did not.....it was not until 30 years later and after fruitless searches in all those thirty years did I find on a small daily death register by the county clerk-coroner found by an genealogist where it lists her death as Aramenta Hudson Hays married to William Robert Mitchell!!!!! She died after as short illness during a visit to family in Plainview Texas... But the lingering Hudson name always bothered me . as it would be a name passed down...My grandmother was born in 1839 and was only married once... But then why would James W. Hays name several children wit the same middle name unless it was a name to be carried down at least by the son if not the daughter?????...Little ws known of the Mitchells after many of them left for Texas after the 1860 census,,......we have also tried to ascertain if her vbrother william Hudson Hays was in Texas with her... found one that was right age etc.... and even right background ... but search proved inconclusive..... Boy I would hate to have done a whole family tree on Hays if ther was some unknown actor and these two actually came from a Hudson family... no birth certificates available so itt begs to be answered...LOTS of thing census and such records don't tell you..........AND we have seen an Aramenta Hudson in TN records but couldnt find any connection at the time...maybe one of those family secrets that add spice to the history! Will be glad to share if we connect anywhere... Lenora
Michael in CA. I'm sorry for your loss. Brenda Edwards Nashville, Tn
