    1. Re: [TNDICKSO] Jones deed
    2. Billy Jones
    3. Sandy - I have a copy of a deed dated 9 Dec 1850 where Jane James Jones (wife of John Jones Jr. deceased 11 Nov 1832) sold her land on Turnbull Creek in Dickson Co. to William Jones (I think her son). The deed I was referring to this morning would be where John Jones Sr. had transferred land to his son John Jones Jr. on Oct 24, 1812. Does this help? Billy Jones ----- Original Message ----- From: Sandra Ellis Sent: Wednesday, June 20, 2001 4:49 AM To: TNDICKSO-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TNDICKSO] Jones deed Hi, Billy! I still have your message about the Jones deed. Montgomery County doesn't have a lot of Dickson Co. records but I did look to see if there were any Dickson County deeds that might help you---didn't find any! I looked through several indexes and didn't see your Jones'---but am still looking! I have them on my "research list" that goes everywhere I go! I sure am glad to see there's someone else at their computer! 3. Hi Sandy - looking for the following Deed - "John Jones, Sr. to John Jones, Jr.....land on south bank of Turnbull Creek...made Oct 24, 1812....witnesses:John Stafford and Joshua James." I think this is the deed from my ggggg grandfather to my gggg grandfather. This may answer a question I have been searching for and that is, did John Jones Sr. move from No. Carolina with his family. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Billy Jones ----- Original Message ----- From: Sandra Ellis Sent: Wednesday, June 20, 2001 4:11 AM To: TNDICKSO-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TNDICKSO] Wake up! 1. [TNDICKSO] Lenora/NARA research
    2. Sandra Ellis
    3. Lenora, I'm in contact with a man that lives in Washington, DC. He does research at NARA (for a fee) and has a 7-day turn-around----sure beats the 2-3 months NARA advertises! I thought of you when I read one of the things he offers: "3) Provide many military documents to you that the National Archives will not, such as, Prisoner of War/Prison Records (both Union and Confederate), Burial Records, U.S. Army Records, Muster Rolls of Volunteers and U.S. Army, etc." Did you get the Prisoner of War/Prison Records of that Mitchell you were looking for---or his burial records? As I've told you before, my g-grandmother gave information that wasn't exactly accurate---just close enough to be considered clues. She said that Clara Alice Trump (who married Theodore Baxter Hayes) was the daughter of "Isaac" Trump and Hester Ritzel. I found a widow's pension application that a Hester Trump filed on an "Isaiah" Trump in 1862. This man is going to check the file for me to see if "Isaac" was actually "Isaiah"---for $12, I couldn't ignore the possibility! If it's the person I'm hoping it is, I have 2 options---the most expensive was $48. Also, the family was on the Stewart Co. census, living with Henry and Hester "Swaggle"----I found a record where Hester Trump married Henry "Swauger" in 1868. I'll let you know how the research goes! Whoever said "Don't sweat the small stuff" sure doesn't do genealogy! Sandy Ellis

    1. [TNDICKSO] Noah Kelley family--King family
    2. I think I might have finally hit pay dirt! I finally received my page of th 1840 Census, Montgomery Co. IL. On the same day I got two answers about a query on the same counties mailing lists. One replying about what a book said about a James Kelley (my line, yeee haw!) and another from a King family descendent telling me that his and my families were friends in Lincoln Co TN. The oldest sons from the two families went to IL together in the late 1820's "surveying". They came back and moved both entire families west to Montgomery Co, IL in about 1829. I spent several hours transcribing the page of census--1840 is one of those age and sex break down ones. I have nothing but admiration for the people who do entire counties! What eye strain! On this page, were my Kelley's, another son I didn't know about (but that the book confirmed), several Kings, and people of the same names as my Kelley's kids in laws--also some who later married grand kids (Berry, Grantham, Wiley to name a few). I still don't have them on any record in TN other than Noah and Hannah's marriage in Wilson Co, TN, and a land sale involving a Noah Kelley in 1813. I do have a county to look in now. Mr King said Lincoln Co., Mulberry area. Anyone recognize the names? Pat in WA state

    3. This is like any other lookup.. I need more information. Where were they from? Dates or estimates on dates they were living. Parents if possible etc. There are Scotts on the rolls...Millard and Delilah are as close as they come so parents names would be helpful depening on the dates.
