Janet I think this is a wonderful idea. Wish I could help you but since I don't live in TN I am sorry. I hope you get lots of responses and you would be able to put them on the web for all of us. I am sure it would be extremely helpful to lots of folks like myself. Good Luck with the project. Joyce in MI
I am interested in making a list of as many Dickson County cemeteries as possible with directions and who the care taker of each one is. If you know of one near you please let me know. Thanks Janet L.

This site was mentioned in this morning's Leaf-Chronicle. A while back, someone asked the location of a Historical Marker in Dickson County. This site lists the markers by county and location. http://www.midtennhistory.com/

Betty, I understand that you have a book of the Old Nashville Cemetery. Could you please look for Mary Willey Waller b. 6-17-1830 / d. 3-22-1862 or her sister Malissa Willey Waller b. unknown / d. 1868 or 1869? I think Mary died giving birth to my gggrandfather, William (Billy) Samuel Waller in 1862. All born in Dickson County. Thanks for any help you can give me. Donna
I remember seeing a sign for the potter cemetery last year when Janet & I went searching for an edwards cemetry..ill try to go back this year if possible... Hi, I have a Mary E. Adcock in my family grouping. She was the daughter of William B. Adcock and Sarah Joiner (Joyner). She was born 1845 and is listed in the 1860 Census of Davidson County. Probably no connection but might come up with something. Pat
My information doesn't seem to fit. I have John William Poteete married to MAUDE A. Adcock. Maude born late 1852, died about 1911. She was the daughter of William Adcock and Sarah Jane Thetford. This marriage information was sent to me, so I have no documentation. And, the birth year is way off. Also, from my own research, Maude A. Adcock had a sister, Mary S., who married James C. Donegan. Not llikely there were 2 Marys in one family. Charlotte
Nana,, I can hardly wait..My Mitchells did leave TN and go to Arizona and Texas.... mostly Hopkins, Hunt and Williamson counties and surrounding areas.. and where I was born in Plainview Texas..' Hale county Tx... But because they were very skilled arpenters they could have been anywhere.. as the traveled occasionaly or temperarily for the jobs offered..........Lenora
In a message dated 7/7/01: > Nana.....what Parkers are you searching? My Mitchell's married into my > Parkers. Hi Lenora and Judy, My Mitchell's begin abt. 1720 in VA or PA, and the descendants were in NC, SC, TN, Neb, ILL, MO, OK, AR, and TX. The Mitchell's married both Parker's and White's, I have quite a bit on all three. I'm in the middle of completing an update on my Turner Family preparing for our Annual Turner Family Reunion on July 13-14, 2001 in Mena, Ark. (If anyone is in Mena Ark area, we'll be at the Lime Tree). If you can give me a week, I'll get back with you and see if we can find some matches ... sounds promising right now, at least we can hope <VBG>. Lynne
Charlotte I have limited information. She was listed in 1910 census in Dickson married to John Poteete. I'm trying to find her parents. Was hoping she'd be listed in 1900 census. I suspect her father was one of the William Adcock's. I have a copy of death record for Williamson County shows: Mary Alace Poteet d. 5/22/1911 of Consumption buried Harpeth, Tenn. Let me know if you find anything. Thanks and have a great day. Brenda Edwards
