Are there any Ellis researchers on this list that I haven't talked to in a while? Several of us are trying to track down this bunch to see if they all descend from the same line. Interested in ANY Ellis--- Sandy Ellis
Nope That Davis hasn't Rung Bells Yet, I haven't gotten very far in reshearch Though
Michelle, I have a Davis in my line, but no info. Have you ever heard of Livinia Davis? Married to George Mayes. Their daughter was my ggm, Agnes, b. 1850, d. 1888, married to Alexander Hendrick. I know my grandmother was supposed to have been born in Charlotte. Ring any bells? Thanks, Sharon In Alton, Illinois
Hi! I'm here too, just been busy with planning my son's wedding and working. I work part-time at a limo/trolley/tour company and business is booming! And son and finacee and her family live in Florida, 1000 miles away so I'm getting the wedding plans ready for them to come here, to alton, IL to get married Oct. 6. I have let my Dickson Co line kind of go for a while, since I hit a brick wall and my relatives seem to have disappeared. I know my granmother, Emma Hendrick was born in Charlotte in 1886, youngest daughter of Alexander HENDRICK and Agnes MAYES. I have the 1880 census with the other children listed etc. He was also on the agriculture census and that was interesting! Has anyone ever seen one of those? they had to make $100 on the farm in order to be included, and that's what he did. He was a share-cropper, raised Indian corn, had a couple of cows and horses, etc. Cut a ton of wood!, oh I think 2 cords, but for anyone who has burned wood before you know that's a lot! I have heard that Agnes died when my grandma was young and I'm guessing the family moved then. they ended up in Hickman Co.,KY. And my g'ma was raised by her oldest sis, Daisy and her husband, S.P. (Buck) JONES. Well, hope to hear from you all soon! Sharon Jones in IL
Thanks for the information on Cher, so glad she is doing so well, and having a great time. Dreams do come true. God Bless Pat
Hi everyone, I think we are here, just thinking of some more questions, in which I do have one. I have searched for Mary Parker b. 1792 SC. I have found several Parkers in Dickson Co. TN. but not sure of the correct one, Mary married William Lewis 1806, Dickson Co. TN. I would appreciate any leads in where I can look. Pat
I get Home sick every once in a while, But then I go to the Beach, LOL. I do miss Our Family, and parts of Dickson. It is a lot Different in Mexico, that is for sure.
Well, Lets See...I just moved away from Dickson (in May) to Puerto Penasco, Mexico. My husbands family is from Dickson. The Family names include: Davis, Gilmer, Herbison, and Fielder. The Davis Family: James Herbison, son of Joshua E. Herbison, Grandson of Deborah Ann Gilmer, Great-grandson of Rebecca Ann Davis, Great-Great Grandson of Lemuel Bryon {Hokie} Davis. The Gilmer: James Herbison, son of Joshua E Herbison, Grandson of Deborah Ann Gilmer, Great-grandson of Arthur Manley {Shug} Gilmer, Great- Great Grandson of Thomas Levi Gilmer The Herbison Family: James Herbsion (my son), son of Joshua E. Herbison (My Husband), Grandson of Carl E. Herbison, Great-grandson of Thomas Edison Herbison, Great-Great-Grandson of Thomas Herbison, GGG-Grandson of Richard Berry Herbison, GGGG-Grandson of James Thomas Herbison. The Fielder Family: James Herbison, Son of Joshua e Herbison, Grandson of Carl E. Herbison, Great-grandson of L. Lorene Fielder. So, That's how I connect to Dickson TN
You moved "away from" Dickson? To Mexico? Wow!---are you "homesick"? Sorry, I don't have any of those names in my lines (yet!) but I've seen them on the list before so I'm sure you are going to find some "cousins". Hey, if you happen to see any Amazons flying around, you can always send me one! Sadly, I lost my Mercedez a couple of years ago and sure do miss him. (Guess you'd better not do that---the authorities might not like it! Goodness--can't be smuggling birds on a genealogy list!) Sandy Ellis
Hi, I'll Speak up! I'm new to the Mailing List! Ya'll Have a good Day! Michelle
Well at least there are four of us still lurking....must mean we are all related!! Lenora
Hello Michelle--- Welcome to the best list on the internet---and consider yourself part of the "family"! We talk genealogy but we also remember the living so if you catch us laughing/crying/praying with each other, you are welcome to join in or delete us for a short while. How about telling us a little about yourself? What's your connection with Dickson County or the surrounding area? Don't be shy----we can't help with your research if we don't know who you are looking for! Lenora and I are "cousins" working on the Bartee/Harkleroad/Hayes lines in and around Dickson Co. Sandy Ellis
I think everyone is taking advantage of the cooler weather, and are out traveling around to search the cemeteries. At least I hope they are, so they can post a lot of new information. Have a good day. Pat Durham McRae, in Indiana
