I know he died in about 1834. He left a will and had 12 children, one child (Richard Nixon Williams) inherited land on Yellow Creek. My particular search is for a Richard Williams who married a Lucinda Coats in Madison Co. Mississippi in 1834.This Richard was born in Tenn in 1804. Daniel's other children Married Napiers,Kittelbrews,Nosworthys. If you have bible records of births, deaths etc it would help. *************************************************************************** This is an automatically-generated notice. Hi all, in response to some recent postings---please remember ---if you would like help with your research, give as much information as you have. It is very difficult to help if you only give a persons name--or even the person they married. You have to give an approximate date, where they lived or came from would be helpful. Some of us who are researching might have a time frame from 1600 to now---some even before that. Narrow it as much as you can, then list everything you know about the person. Sometimes a simple census note--"parent born in NC (example) will help". This is only my opinion. Many times in response to questions, I I look at the name, and I might have found the name in my research, but I don't peruse it --because I have no time reference. I'm sure other researchers have other hints. Love to help out when I can--Peg

My husband and I spent our vacation this year in Dickson, Tennessee. While there I had the opportunity of seeing my great-grandfather's Bible. American Bible Society New York, 1855 The following births were listed. The inscriptions were very hard to read--the dates I have listed were what I thought they were! Also, each inscription read "in the year of our Lord." James H. Tidwell September 28, 1829 Elisah C. Tidwell (NOTE: This confuses me, because Grandma Tidwell was Rebecca Catherine Perry--maybe Elisah was a nickname--the birthdate is correct) January 13, 1833 Mary Harriet Tidwell September 9, 1853 Winna Tidwell July 9, 1854 John H. Tidwell November 7, 1855 Joseph Tidwell January 31, 1857 William D. Tidwell December 30, 1857 Cynthia Palestine Tidwell November 14, 1859 Luisah C. Tidwell June 20, 1862 Augustin Tidwell July 25, 1863 Sealy Allis Tidwell July 29, 1865 Hiram James Tidwell April 7, 1867 July S. Tidwell January 30, 1869 Benjamin Rufus Tidwell (This is my grandfather!) Marcyh 24, 1870 Susan Rebecka Tidwell January 14, 1872 Arazona Elizabeth Tidwell August 25, 1876 Some of these children were not listed in the various census records, so I imagine they must have passed away as children. I have a Polly G. Johnson married to Littleberry Orgain. Does anyone have this Polly Johnson? Kathy Dickson Hughes
Sue, I believe these Johnson's came from Bladen County NC. I think Samuels wife was Polly Freeman. I haven't done research on this Johnson line. I believe Samuel had a sister Nancy md to Hardy Vollentine, a brother James md to Rachel Plummer McMaster, a bro. Charles md to Polly Houston. I believe their parents were Wlm Johnson and Sally Bigford. Charles Johnson settled on Yellow Creek in Dickson Co around 1798, purchased property from John Dickson, witness---Henry Davis and Martha Houston. He bought another property in 1802 from John Dickson --witness--Hardy and Ben Volentine--Edward Dickson. He went to Bond IL with Nancy and Hardy Volentine. I don't know about Samuel, but Charles had a son Duncan born around 1803 and a son, James born around 1805. Kelma Haguewood is researching this line of Johnson's, hopefully she will get in touch with you. There is a large group of us researching the Johnson families of Dickson and Humphreys County. We are trying to get as many Johnson relatives as we can to take the DNA test--hoping to answer a few of our mysteries. Cuzin Sorry for not responding sooner, it is real busy here at Work. Inregards to the files, take a close look at the travel Patterns, ecpecially those of the Robinson Families of General James Randolph Robertson. reason I lost contact with another Curtis researcher in Humphreys County. the last time I remember was there was a matching DNA to Eli Thomas Curtis this was in North Carolina and his families were the McCurry Families. Well LOW and Behold the McCurry families lived by the father of General James Randolph Robertson, one John Robinson who was of Wake and Johnston Counties of NC. John Robinson sold his lands on Nutbush Creek in Brunswick Co ( Now Mecklenburg Co) and Vance Co. NC to John Johnsont era of 1750, this John Johnston lands are sold by Terisha Johnston, Stephen Johnson, and John Johnson in 1790 era. So terisha Johnston's grandson is Len Henley Johnson of Humphreys County Tn. John Robinson then buys lands in two locations in NC, which fall into two different Counties, one is Crabtree Creek and I have forgot the other. But Chamberlain Hudson of Humphreys and Benton County lived there with John Robinson families Also of Note is the Bennett Family Lines, which follow these Robinson travel Paterns like a shadow as our de Montague lines do also which take us to two sets of Curtis Families. Edward Johnson of Strawberry Banckes, and Mark Johnson of Back River ( they are neighbors). Then right into the Line of George Washington whose families are the Curtis, Simpson, Ball, Thornton families of Colonial Virgina. Umm the Benntt lands are in the same area. as these folks as is the Robinson Family. The disc I sent is total able searchable by Surnames you can write you own notes into it.
