I am sending you what I have, but do not vouch for anything regarding Bakers that isn't specifically sourced. What I have on the Bakers only in regard to how they are related to Gunns and Hedges, I'd appreciate your input. What I have on the Gunns is correct and well-sourced, since that is my direct line. I'll send complete files directly to your email. Let's stay in touch on this. *************************************************************************** This is an automatically-generated notice. The households are: Absolom 31, wife Martha 24, James 4 and John 1. Ann Tatum is next door, age 51; living with Richard 24, Solomon 18, Martha 15 and Amanda 11. Ann was born in GA, all of the children including Absolom born TN. 3. It appears that the response for the Dickson project was most certainly a success. I am sure that we are all glad to hear this! I, for one, would like to commend all of the volunteers responsible for ALL phases of putting this project together and seeing it thru. I would much rather wait a little longer than originally estimated and end up with a book that is well done, than to end up with a book that was hurriedly assembled just to meet a deadline. I also think it will be well worth our patiently waiting.................. His mother was Ann Baker, born in Georgia May 13, 1798; her father was John Armstrong Baker, died in Dickson County about September, 1820. My Gr-Grandfather never knew anything about his father; all of his kids said that all he could tell them was that he didn't know who his father was. I recently had my DNA tested and it seems that I match perfectly with the Gunn family DNA. I think that answers the question that Ann never answered. Now I need to find out what I can about the Gunn family living in Dickson County in 1815-16, especially the young male members. *************************************************************************** This is an automatically-generated notice. Dickson County Rootsweb List Subscribers, Apologies from the Dickson County Heritage Book Committee: Because of the unexpected number of submissions for the Dickson County Heritage Book (more than 1500), editing and preparing the articles for publication has taken longer than anticiapted. We regret the delay, but because all members of the committee are volunteers and have other responsibilities, we have been forced to move the anticipated publication date to early summer. Be assured the book will be worth the wait. Bobby Prosser and all of the Dickson County Heritage Book Committee prossergenealogy@comcast.net

    3. Janet Sorry for the Short message. Fortner's are also known as Forkner and are connected to our DNA JOHNSON of Humphreys County Bunch of Cousin's Levi Fortner was the first with Major Robert Burton to settle the Hurricane Creek Settlement of Stewart County before 1800, this area moved into Dickson County some time around 1803, then into Humphreys County in 1813. My DNA lines of John Johnson and wife Anne arrived there in 1805 0r 1807 from memory here. This is son of Hudson Johnson of Hawkins County Tn who in this time era of 180 tell 1803 is in what was Williamson Co. Tn. I have lost contact with my cousin the Fortner researchers of Humphreys County do to the virus's I have had. I am sending this on to the Humphreys County Site for comments and possible recontact with Fortner relatives. But if you go to roots web and look for files by TJStubby, their cross information is posted on one of my many trees, I have posted there. Levi Fortner is married to our group. LOL Tony PS Page 50 of 1888 Goodspeed History Levi Fortner was married to Nancy Curtis if you look for this cross on Roots web it might give some clues. Mary b. 1795 didn't show up anywhere near by that I could find untill the 1870 census age 75, widowed and living the widow of her son, William, Malissa..she was also widowed in 1870. Malissa was born in Indiana, as indicated on some census records. Also, I would like to point out that there is a line of Burtons who changed their name from Trent to Burton and who lived in Lee Valley, Hawkins County, TN..I think relate to my Burton's some how. Va. Jarrell Willingham married one of Michael Johnson's descendants, I need to look this up. I am forwarding an e mail from my cousin Lisa Grimes, this is her lines of Moss that comes into Oglethorpe County. We are still trying to figure this Hudson Johnson- Johnston lines out as we last have him in 1778- 1780 on Buffalo Creek in Henry County Va. per Dickson County Tn Goodspeed History Hudson Johnson was a whiskey maker from NC. Now we also have another intersecting Hudson line of Mary Hudson born 1813 in Tn married to one John B. Patrick born in 1805 NC ( discussion on this is mixed in the family) Reason Goodspeed History of 1888 Humphreys County is a Bio by his Grandson ? Patrick who tells us that Mary Hudson born 1813 Sumner Co. John B. Patrick was from Natchez Miss. The 18560 census on this Mary Hudson born 1813 Tn and John B. Patrick born NC. Well the connecting info seems to be one Adam Brevard Hudson who died in Adams County. We have not been able to get information on Adams County Miss. at this time. We do know that John B. Patrick who married Mary Hudson was in Humphreys County by 1830 with a brother John Henderson Patrick. ( Per 1888 Goodspeed History of Humphreys County Tn.) They lived by two Hudson Families: Chamberlain Hudson of NC and ? Hudson from Iron Box Maryland. If you run these folks on roots web I have several files posted on this site. Here is Cousin Lisa Grimes info From: Lisa Grimes To: Tony Johnson Sent: Tuesday, November 14, 2006 1:36 AM Subject: FW: Emailing: Oglethorpe County Ga Hi Tony, I didn't know that your Hudson JOHNSON line...also went to Oglethorpe Co. GA. I'm sure you're aware...but my research has found that area...didn't open up for white habitation until after the 1783 Indian Treat was signed and by the end of 1784 Surveying had been started. The big migration flood of settlers...was early in 1785, and that kept going well thru 1790. Oglethorpe was created from Wilkes Co. and separated off as of 1796. The immediate areas...including Morgan, Troup, and the other Co's that share the same general geographic history....are also of interest. We...Nathaniel MOSS - Joanna JOHNSON descendants... have always been vaguely aware that this pair weren't the only ones of the family to have migrated from VA to GA.....but we have long forgotten who the JOHNSON, HARRIS and MASSIE cousins were that were there with them. Some of the cousins have surnames that we've long forgotten. :o( I've been trying to figure out which cousins were with them...in GA, but until now...it's been zipparoo. Your sending out this information may just be what I've been needing. *S* If...you happen to come across any MOSS or CAMPBELL info... please let us know. These are the main families that would be involved there. I can give you specific names...and even a location or two. *S* QUESTION...what NC counties have you researched in for your line?? My reason for asking is I'm trying to sort thru data 1760-1790 in the area that now includes.... Wake, Johnston, Cumberland and Moore Co's. My target surnames are CAMPBELL, WATKINS, ROSSER, VINSON and of course MOSS and JOHNSON. If you want basic info on these...I'll send, but I won't unless you want to know who these people were. *S* I noted the name of SHROPSHIRE. This family apparently was in the Wilkes Co.-Oglethorpe Co. GA area, with some migrating in 1810 with the MOSS and CAMPBELL group. A generation or two down...married into the MOSS line, in Wilkinson Co. MS, with the children of George MOSS Sr m. Lucretia GLASS. The GLASS family was also in Oglethorpe Co. GA before the 1810 migration date. We're still trying to figure out who was included in the wagon train that went from GA...thru AL to MS...and then into LA. There were others...that were also in the Oglethorpe GA area, that also married into the MOSS and CAMPBELL families; BOOTH and PORTER come quickly to mind, as they eventually also ended up in S-central LA. Fact is...they really inter-married within this group, starting in GA, then married in Wilkinson Co. MS, then their children inter-married in LA. *S* George MOSS Sr...was Nathaniel & Joanna's eldest son, and he died at a fairly young age. Rumor was that he might have been poisoned by a servant [slave]...but so far all I've found is unsubstantiated rumor. I'll have to look at my notes...but I think George Jr was the one that married a SHROPSHIRE girl, or his son...also named George MOSS. BUT......I'll do that...tomorrow...when I'm more awake. *S* G'Nite, Lisa Hopes this help as I am trying to follow all our relatives on this DNA Line. Tony ----- Original Message ----- From: E.
