Close Harmony-A History of Southern Gospel(UNC Press 2002) by Dr. James R. Goff, Jr. on page 128-- "The LeFevres first emerged as a family trio of children singing country tunes in 1921. Eleven year old Urias sang lead and picked the banjo, nine year old Alphus sang tenor and played the fiddle, and thriteen year old Maude took the alto part and played the guitar. Maude married and left the group. In 1934 Urias married Eva Mae Whittington who joined the group to sing alto and play the piano.
