    1. Fw: [VAHENRIC] Herrings of Henrico County (Herring/ Herron DNA project)

    3. I'm passing this on to the DeKalb, Putnam and White County lists to see if anyone in the HERRIN/HERRON/HERREN families in the Upper Cumberland might be interested in participating in the "Herring" DNA project... This was probably the original spelling of "Herrin" etc... I've participated in DNA testing myself, and my Rice cousins have done the same, with remarkable results. I'm sold on this technology for genealogy, and I think our Herrin/Herron/ etc.. cousins would greatly benefit from it as well. Could you pass on this news to your Herring relatives? This also includes spelling variants of the surname such as Herren, Hearing, Harring, Herrin, etc. If you are a female researcher, you can participate indirectly if you have a brother, father, paternal uncle, or male cousin with the HERRING or variant surname who is willing to submit a DNA sample. Others may participate by sharing the cost of the HERRING surname DNA testing. Because we are acting as a Surname Project, we qualify for discounted testing rates. > The details of the HERRING Surname DNA Project can be found at http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.asp?code=M51728&special=true > PLEASE HELP!
