I believe that my Pittman line would have been in Jackson around 1830-1842 or so. They had children born in AL but I've never been able to narrow down a county. While exploring a lead about 2 Pittman girls who married Dunham Brothers I came across the Dunham Family in Jackson Co. AL and remembered that there had been a David Pittman listed as head of household there in the 1840 Census....I believe that this Pittman was actually Daniel Pittman. The Uncle of one of the Dunhams of Jackson Co. AL is living next to Daniel & Comfort in the 1850 Census. I'm trying to figure out whether the two Pittman girls that married the Dunham Bros. may have been children of Daniel & Comfort. > So, a great many families apparently moved down >there from the Upper Cumberland, and not just from >DeKalb County. TN in 1850 Census if I haven't already told you that. His name was John Pitman (age 74 in 1850 census). Also there was a Nancy Pitman living with him who was 26 yrs old. Some of the Dekalb Co. TN Pittmans went on to Texas in Bowie Red River and Lamar counties. --Marie --=======12AF3B7D=======-- _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
