Cousin Will, James Lefever (1816-1896) m. Nancy Jane Steele about 1833 in then White Co. Nancy died prior to James' second marriage to Mary Ann (Polly) Boyd 28Jan1857 by Rev. Levi Perkins, White Co. All 12 children were Nancy's. Their daughter Charlotte /Carlotta/Lottie born 1834. died 1891. Married (1) William R. or James Nash (2) Rev. Lewis Howell. Rev. Howell was first married to Jerasha Duncan 19Dec1848, White Co.. They lived on the Falling Water near the Perkins Cemetery. James is in the White Co. Census with wife Polly in 1860, 1870,1880. The Steeles came fro Montgomery Co.,VA. I'm not sure of Nancy James' parents. I have quite a bit of information on the Steels but would have to study it some more. James' brother Andrew Lefever (and your ancestor) married Celia Steele, dau. of Alexander Steele and Lucy Compton. Their bro.
