This is in response to the good info I have found today re the Curtis and Davis families. Many thanks to Ann (Jobe) Brown and others for all their work. My family records show that Mary EMOLINE Curtis married Zachariah Davis June 30, 1868. Their children were: 1) Era Emily Davis b. 6-27-1888. Era married Poper Pope Potter Davis b. 11-27-1885. Children: o Robbie Lillian Davis m. 1)Robert Reefer Vanderpool and 2) Eb Knowles o Malcom Davis o Jack Davis m. Frances o Frances Davis m. ? Brady 2) Mary Magnolia Frances Nola Davis who married 1) John Turner and 2) Scott Lentz. 3) John Davis 4) Charlie Davis 5) Vergil or Virgil E. Davis b. 4-25-1890 and d. 9-9- 1951. He married Dollie E. ? b/ 5-10-1896 6) Wyatt Lee Davis b. ? m. Lola Griffith b. ? . Children: o Wilma Davis o Juanita Davis m. ? Haley o Joe Wyatt Davis o Jim Solon Davis o Helena Davis m. Ham Davies (Are Wilma and Helena two different children?) Emoline is the sister of my ggrandfather, Matthew Curtis. As you can see, I am missing a lot of info. Any help would be appreciated. Etta
Etta, Thanks for giving me the credit, but most of the Curtis information is from Cheryl. She and I and several others do work together on the Davis lines through which she and I both descend from. Are you a descendant of Zachariah Davis - s/o lewis Y. Davis and Nancy Fite? Does anyone have any more information on Lewis Y. Davis family? I show 13 children for him - but mostly just names. Lewis Y. (what does that Y stand for?) was a brother to my Solomon Davis and a brother to Cheryl's John Davis Jr. Does anyone know when Lewis Y. David married Nancy Fite and where they are buried?
