My husband's great-grandmother was Mary Jane MANNING, born June 2, 1850 in Tennessee. Her father was John Howard MANNING. The only census I have found him on was in Bledsoe County, TN the year Mary Jane was born. He seemed to move around but was rumored to have had some brothers. 1850 Bledsoe Co., TN Census; hh #684-684 MANNING, John, 25, farmer, TN; Mariah, 17, TN; Malvina 3/12; Mary, 85, TN; Ann, 43, SC When was the William MANNING you mentioned born and where? did he have a brother named John? Anything on your MANNINGS of TN will be of interest to me as they have been quite illusive.
